SOLUTION: An air seal (7) includes a seal substrate and an abradable seal layer on the seal substrate. The abradable seal layer is formed by a high density polyimid foaming material, or preferably a thermomechanically high density foaming material. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and system for inspecting a defect in parts. SOLUTION: This system has and is constituted of the following steps; a step for putting the parts for inspection in an immersion tank, a step for pouring a liquid mixture of a dye-permeating liquid and an ultracritical carbon-dioxide solvent into the immersion tank, a step for providing ample time enough for keeping the parts to remain immersed in the liquid mixture until the dye-liquid has fully permeated the possible defect inside the parts, a step for taking the immersed parts out of the immersion tank, and a step for doing a test for the immersed parts in order to check whether they have a defect or not.
