    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molybdenum disilicide (MoSi2) material which is hardy pasting. SOLUTION: The MoSi2 alloy which is hardly pasting contains Re. When Re is added to the alloy, a thin protecting film is formed which suppresses the decomposition caused by pasting. The amount of Re necessary to eliminate the pasting is 2-50% of Mo+Re based on atomic reference system, preferably 5-40% of total of Mo+Re. A compositional formula explaining the wide range of composition of this invention is (MoaRebXc) (SidZc), wherein a: a+b+c=1, b: d+e=2, c: b=0.02-0.5, d: X is actually to be selected the group consisting of Cr, Ti, Fe, Co, Ni and their mixtures, e: c=0-0.2, f: Z is actually to be selected from the group consisting of B, Ge, Al, Ga, Sn, Sb, Bi and their mixtures, g: d=1.8-2.0, h:e=0-0.2.
