Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to implantable medical devices that are operational for mitigating radiofrequency (RF)-induced heating. The implantable medical devices generally include a ferrite material that is associated with at least one component of the implantable medical device and operational to reduce the RF-induced heating of the implantable medical device. Additional embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of mitigating radiofrequency (RF)-induced heating of an implantable medical device by applying a ferrite material to at least one component of the implantable medical device. Thereafter, the ferrite material reduces the RF-induced heating of the medical device. In some embodiments, the methods of the present disclosure also include a step of implanting the implantable medical device into a subject, such as a human being.
