The invention relates to a method of providing an electric current taker (6a, 6b) made from silver and having a highly electro conductive contact surface into an aluminium support bar (1) to be used in electrolysis. In order for the support bar (1) and the electric current taker (6a, 6b) there into be easily, quickly and inexpensively manufactured,the method comprises a) heating a first end (2) of the support bar (1) and providing on top of it a solder containing a substance whose affinity to oxygen is high after a temperature of an aluminium surface is at a temperature which exceeds a melting temperature of the solder, whereby the solder is spread in a molten state on top of the surface, b) breaking an aluminium oxide layer between the aluminium and the molten solder by a mechanical treatment so that oxygen is released from the aluminium oxide layer, the oxygen reacting with the substance of the solder having a high affinity to oxygen and forming, together with the substance, on the surface of the molten solder an oxide layer, and c) providing, on top of the solder, the electric current taker (6a, 6b) and letting the solder to solidify and the electric current taker to become attached to the solidified solder. La invención se refiere a un método para proporcionar un suministro de corriente eléctrica (6a, 6b) hecho de plata y que tiene una superficie de contacto altamente electroconductora en una barra de soporte de aluminio (1) que se utilizará en la electrólisis. Para que la barra de soporte (1) y el suministro de corriente eléctrica (6a, 6b) sean fabricados fácil, rápida y económicamente, el método comprende a) calentar un primer extremo (2) de la barra de soporte (1) y proporcionar en la parte superior de la misma una soldadura que contiene una sustancia cuya afinidad al oxígeno es alta después de que la temperatura de una superficie de aluminio sea una temperatura que exceda la temperatura de fusión de la soldadura, por lo cual la soldadura es distribuida en un estado de fusión sobre la parte superior de la superficie, b) fracturar una capa de óxido de aluminio entre el aluminio y la soldadura fundida por un tratamiento mecánico para que el oxígeno sea liberado de la capa de óxido de aluminio, el oxígeno reacciona con la sustancia de la soldadura que tiene una alta afinidad al oxígeno y forma, junto con la sustancia, sobre la superficie de la soldadura fundida una capa de óxido, y c) proporcionar, sobre la parte superior de la soldadura, el suministro de corriente eléctrica (6a, 6b) y dejar que la soldadura se solidifique y que el suministro de corriente eléctrica se una a la soldadura solidificada.
