Abstract: A door operating assembly (1) for opening and closing vehicle doors at a constant force includes a frame (12), a teeter lever assembly (24) having a variable diameter cam on its edge surface pivotally mounted on the frame, a cylinder (20) operated by pressurized air mounted on the frame and including a rod (22) connected to the teeter lever assembly for rotating the teeter lever assembly, a spring (62) secured between the frame and a flexible connection member (66) which wraps around the variable diameter cam upon door movement providing a constant opening and closing force on the door, an accumulator (76) accepts pressurized air from the cylinder as the door opens and returns the pressurized air to the cylinder for closing the door.
