    Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a method (200) for controlling a renewable energy power plant (12), such as a wind power plant (12). In particular, aspects of the present invention relate to a method (200) for controlling the renewable energy power plant (12) when a frequency level of a power network (16), to which the power plant (12) is connected, is outside of a frequency deadband. The method (200) comprises: receiving a measured frequency level (40) of the power network (16); determining and dispatching set points for controlling a power characteristic of the power plant (12) based on the measured frequency level; monitoring changes in the measured frequency level (40) to detect inflections in the measured frequency level (40); and when an inflection is detected, applying a damping control scheme comprising determining and dispatching set points for controlling the power characteristic based on that inflection, until one or more damping control conditions are satisfied. Aspects of the invention may be used to control the active power output of a wind energy power plant (22) and to dampen oscillations in the controlled power characteristic when the frequency level of the connected power network (16) is fluctuating outside of the frequency deadband.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a state machine for controlling a wind power plant (WPP), comprising at least one wind turbine connected to an electrical grid, the state machine is adapted to, receive a plant power reference (P_total) according to at least one electrical value of the electrical grid, manage a plurality of control modes and output signals, in relation to the plurality of control modes, select within the control modes, according to controller inputs and contingency at that moment in time, transfer the corresponding control values to a power controller, and dispatch a power reference to each of the at least one wind turbines according to the selected control mode.     Abstract: The invention relates to a control system for a wind turbine generator,WTG. The control system defines reactive limits for a reactive power reference for the WTG. The reactive limits are defined as a function of a physical parameter, e.g. the output voltage of the WTG. In case the reactive power reference exceeds the predefined limits, the reactive power reference is limited. By limiting the reactive power reference output voltages which exceed certain output voltage limits may be avoided and, thereby, a disconnection of the WTG from the grid may be avoided.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a control system for a wind turbine generator, WTG. The control system defines reactive limits for a reactive power reference for the WTG.
