Abstract:
A drive assembly for adjusting the pitch of a wind turbine blade comprises a stator having a cylindrical body and a drive member positioned at least partially within the cylindrical body and movable along an axis thereof. A mounting pin extends through an aperture in a wall of the cylindrical body for pivotally mounting the stator to a wind turbine structure.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a segmented pitch ring for use in a blade pitch system of a wind turbine. The segmented pitch ring is formed of a plurality of segments manufactured by different processes. In particular, one or more of the segments are formed by a rolling process, and one or more of the segments are formed by a casting process. The segments are arc-shaped or include arc-shaped sections that in combination define a substantially circular circumference of the pitch ring.
Abstract:
A rotor (1) for a wind turbine is disclosed. The rotor (1) comprises a hub (11) and at least one wind turbine blade (10), each wind turbine blade (10) being mounted on the hub (11) via a bearing unit (2). Each bearing unit (2) comprises a C-shaped bearing element (3) forming an inner ring and a T-shaped bearing element (4) forming an outer ring. The C-shaped bearing element (3) comprises a first bearing element part (12) and a second bearing element part (13). An interface (14) between the first bearing element part (12) and the second bearing element part (13) is positioned in such a manner that a third raceway pair (8) is formed between a protruding portion (5) of the T-shaped bearing element (4) and the first bearing element part (12) of the C-shaped bearing element (3) and the hub (11) or the wind turbine blade (10) is attached to the second bearing element part (13) of the C-shaped bearing element (3).
Abstract:
Wind turbine pitch actuator mounting structure A mounting structure is described for attaching a pitch actuator to a hub of a wind turbine. The mounting structure has one or more legs each having a proximal end and a distal end, and a flexible intermediate portion between the proximal and distal ends. The mounting structure further comprises an actuator attachment portion for attaching to a wind turbine blade pitch actuator. The actuator attachment portion is arranged at the distal end(s) of the one or more legs. The proximal end(s) of the one or more legs are configured for attachment to a wind turbine hub. The flexible intermediate portion(s) of the one or more legs are configured to flex in use to absorb loads acting on the pitch actuator. The mounting structure therefore allows the pitch actuator to pivot in a first plane by virtue of the flexible legs. The pitch actuator may be attached to the mounting structure via pivot bearings arranged to allow the pitch actuator to pivot in a second plane, substantially perpendicular to the first plane.
Abstract:
A wind turbine (10) includes a first connecting structure (36) associated with the main shaft (34) fixed to a second connecting structure (40) of a rotor hub (22). A plurality of blades (24) is coupled to the rotor hub (22). A rotor locking disc (32) is carried on the main shaft (34). The rotor locking disc (32) has a peripheral region and a plurality of rotor locking elements (50) in the peripheral region for receiving one or more rotor locking pins (30). The first connecting structure (36) includes at least first and second sets of fastener holes (38a, 38b, 38b'). The first set of fastener holes (38a) is located at a position radially inward of the rotor locking elements (50) and the second set of fastener holes (38b, 38b') is located between adjacent rotor locking elements (50). The first and/or second set of fastener holes (38a, 38b, 38b') are used to receive fasteners (39a, 39b) to secure the main shaft (34) to the rotor hub (22).
