Abstract: PIPE HANDLING SYSTEM A pipe handling system (100) for locating a pipe joint (75) in a joining assembly (420) that includes an internal joining tool (230) and an external joining tool (205), the system (100) comprising: a gripper (520) configured to grip a surface of the pipe joint (75); an elevator (215) configured to pick up the pipe joint (75) and position the pipe joint (75) adjacent a string of pipe (60) disposed in the external joining tool (205); and a deployment assembly (150) having a cable (265) that is used to position the internal joining tool (230) inside the pipe joint (75).
