    Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an expansion swage and an expandable liner. In one aspect, an expandable tubular system is provided. The system includes an expandable tubular. The system further includes an expansion swage for expanding the expandable tubular, wherein the expansion swage is deformable from a compliant configuration to a smaller substantially non-compliant configuration. Additionally, the system includes a restriction member disposed on an exterior surface of the expandable tubular, wherein expansion of the expandable tubular in the location of the restriction member deforms the expansion swage from the compliant configuration to the smaller substantially non-compliant configuration.     Abstract: A deployment assembly for expanding a liner string in a wellbore includes: a tubular mandrel having a bore therethrough; an expander linked to the mandrel and operable between an extended position and a retracted position; an extension tool disposed along the mandrel and operable to extend the expander; and a retraction tool disposed along the mandrel.     Abstract: An expander tool includes segments capable of deflecting inward in response to a restriction encountered while expanding a tubular downhole. The expander tool includes an inner mandrel having a tapered surface about its outside diamete r, the segments disposed around the inner mandrel with corresponding tapered surfac es in contact with the tapered surface of the inner mandrel and a compression slee ve disposed around the inner mandrel. A compressive load on the compression sleeve applies a preload force biasing the segments to a raised position on the tapered surface and hence an extended position. This preload enables expansion of the tubula r with the segments in the extended position. Upon reaching the restriction, an increased pull force on the expander tool forces the segments down the tapered surface of t he inner mandrel against the bias of the preload to a retracted position such that th e expander tool assumes a smaller maximum outer diameter.

    Abstract: A downhole deployment valve (DDV) 1100 includes a fail safe feature comprising selectively extendable attenuation members 1108, 1109 for decreasing a falling object's impact velocity prior to the object contacting the valve 1112. The DDV 1100 may include a locking member for locking the valve member 1112 in a closed position. Also disclosed is a normally open back-up valve member for actuation upon of a primary valve member and a locking member to lock a valve member closed and enable disposal of a shock attenuating material on the valve member. Actuation of the DDV system can be electrically operated and can be self contained to operate automatically downhole without requiring control lines to the surface. Additionally the actuation of the DDV can be based on a pressure supplied to an annulus.
