Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a drive device for a vehicle roof cover composable of a comparatively small number of comparatively simple members and capable of being noiselessly actuated. CONSTITUTION: A drive device of a vehicle member movable between end positions, has an electric motor 22 connected through a shift gear device 23 to a driving pinion 20 connected in driving to a movable member and an electric motor control switch device to stop the electric motor at least in a single prescribed position of the movable member. A switching gear rotated by an angle smaller than 360 deg. through an eccentric gear device 40 when moving the member between the end positions, is useful for actuation of the switch device. The eccentric gear device has an external gear 44 having an internal toothing tine coaxial to a common shaft 26 of the shift gear device and the eccentric gear device and an internal gear having an external toothing line meashing with the internal toothing line by being journalled to an eccentric connected to the shaft so as not to idly rotate for relative rotation of the internal gear 43 and the eccentric 42.
