    Abstract: PURPOSE: To perform test easily and quickly by operating each operating component and evaluating the presence of the failure of the component based on the operation result. CONSTITUTION: A testing device 1 has an operation button 3 that is connected to the equivalent input of a heater control device 2 by a connection line 4. By pressing the operation button 3 of the testing device 1, a control pulse is sent to the heater control device 2. In the heater control device 2, a monitoring switch 5 switches on the working component to be tested individually and executes the process of operation test successively in each case.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To simplify the assembling of a controller and electric connection unit connected thereto, by providing a controller mounting space directly formed on a jacket-like outer casing for mounting a circuit board of the controller and sensor element on a heater. CONSTITUTION: A liq. heat exchange medium flows via a space 2 between a heat exchanger 3 and jacket-like outer casing 4. Outside the casing 4 a mounting space 8 is formed and controller 11 is mounted in this space 8. The controller 11 has one or more circuit boards and involves a sensor unit composed of a plurality of sensor elements 12, 13 which are mounted on the bottom wall 9 of the space 8. Semiconductor power components 14 are mounted on the side wall 10 of the space 8. An electric connection unit 20 connects an input and output 18 of the controller 11 to each operating part. Conductive components and contact components for connection between the input and output 18 are inserted in a plug-like board 23 attached to the unit 20.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a stable combustion valve throughout a wide range by a method wherein control is effected such that heating capacity is not influenced by the fluctuation of a mounting voltage, in an automobile heater having a motor-driven combustion air fan to feed combustion air to a fuel-operated burner. CONSTITUTION: In a heater 1 to supply combustion air to a fuel operated burner through drive of a combustion air fan operated by a motor 2, an electronic drive device 3 to control the motor 2 is provided. The electronic drive device 3 comprises a controller 4 to input a mounted voltage UB applied from an on-vehicle battery and a preset value for a motor voltage; a converter 5; and an actuator 6. The electronic drive device 3 controls the motor voltage of the motor 2 such that a motor voltage is held at a constant value. This constitution ensures constant speed actuation of a combustion air fan and provides a stable combustion value throughout a wide range.
