Abstract: A copier/printer apparatus capable of duplex coping includes a roller assembly (91, 92) that shifts a sheet laterally while maintaining longitudinal movement of the sheet. A shaft (95) that supports drive rolls (91) that form nips with mating idler balls (92) has pins (96) that extend into helical slots (97) within the drive rolls such that sheets are fed along the sheet feed direction when the drive rolls (91) are rotated in a first sense, but are also moved laterally of the sheet feed direction when the drive rolls are rotated in the opposite sense.
