Abstract: In an on-line printed sheets output handling system for the sequential output by a reproduction system, in which the printed sheets are registered in neatly superposed sets which are optionally fastened together by a finishing system, which is laterally repositionable to provide variable set finishing; a lateral registration system for said printed sheets output is repositionable with said finishing system, and has a sheet registration member engaging and laterally registering the printed sheets to selectable variable lateral sheet registration positions by the finisher lateral movement repositioning system rather than a separate lateral repositioning system, with a registration disengagement system for moving the sheet registration member out of registration engagement with the sheets after a set of sheets has been laterally compiled and before the finishing system is laterally repositioned. The finishing system may comprise two staplers, one of which is fixed, and the other of which is laterally repositionable and carries the sheet registration member of the lateral registration system. This system may be integral a disk inverter stacker system.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the number of positions of a sheet and positions of finish part by a user, being an operator, by moving a sheet position aligning member to a lateral direction sheet aligning position. SOLUTION: A position aligning device 20 is integrally formed with a second stapler unit (stapler) 18, to be made movable. The stapler 18 is integrally provided with a retracting lateral direction position aligning edge (edge) 22 performing position alignment of a sheet before a staple lock. The edge 22 performs position alignment in both sides in cooperation with a width squeezing mechanism 16. A position aligned by the edge 22 is changed in accordance with a size of the sheet and a desired second staple lock position. Thereafter, the stabler 18, after accumulating a sheet set, is moved by 1/4 sheet width for two-part lock, to be repositioned. When this positioning device is used, a hardware/software for the single stapler 18 is only required to be provided.

SOLUTION: An image receiving medium removing apparatus has a stripper finger structure 32 which separates the leading edge of an image receiving medium, such as plain paper, from a heated fuser roll 12 and a stripper baffle structure 34 which separates the portion of the image receiving medium beyond the image receiving medium, from the heated fuser roll 12. The structure 32 is supported movably between a home position or a standby position and an operation position and the tips of the fingers maintain contact with the fuser roll 12 at all times, thereby separating the leading edge of the medium from the fuser roll 12. The structure 34 is supported movably between the home position or the standby position and the operation position and separates the portion of the image receiving medium beyond the lead edge in the operation position.
