Abstract: The present invention is an organic light emitting device (OLED) comprising an anode, a cathode and a luminescent region provided between the anode and the cathode. The luminescent region comprises an electron injection and transporting zone and at least one of a hole injection and transporting zone and a mixed charge transport layer. One or both of the electron injection and transporting zone and the mix ed charge transporting layer comprises an azole compound represented by formula I and/or II. The provision of the novel azole compounds of the invention as electron transport materials within an organic electroluminescent device advantageously reduces power consumption and increases power conversion efficiency within tile device and as such, are suitable for a variety of display applications.

Abstract: Methods are provided for preparing reactive silane ester compounds, such a s aromatic reactive silane ester compounds. The methods include providing a carboxylic, acid-containing starting material, reacting the carboxylic acid-containing starting material with a base to form a salt, and reacting the salt with a halo-alkylene-silan e to form a reactive silane ester compound. Compositions prepared by these methods, protective layers that include hydrolysis and condensation products of such composition s, electrophotographic photoreceptors that include such protective layers, and image forming apparatuses that include such electrophotographic photoreceptors are also provided.

Abstract: An ink including at least one first reactive component, at least one second component comprising a triggerable component, at least one third reactive component, and an optional colorant; wherein the at least one first reactive component and the at least one third reactive component are capable of reacting with one another to form a solid ink on a substrate; wherein the at least one first reactive component is encapsulated in a microcapsule; wherein the ink can be jetted onto a substrate and treated whereby the treatment causes the at least one triggerable component to trigger the rupture of the microcapsule thereby releasing the at least one first reactive component from the microcapsule so that the at least one first reactive component and the at least one third reactive component come into contact, react, and polymerize thereby curing the ink.

Abstract: Novel asymmetric arylamine compounds useful as hole transport molecules (HTMs) incorporated into imaging members, such as layered photoreceptor devices, and improved chemical processes for making the same. The arylamine compounds increase the charge mobility through the photoreceptor to effectuate an increase in machine speed. The chemical processes utilize a tandem Ullmann-Buchwald reaction sequence.
