    Abstract: Ink jet inks and liquid developers are disclosed which contain coloured particles comprising hydrophilic silica particles, to the surfaces of which dyes are covalently bonded through silane coupling agents. The ink jet inks generally comprise a liquid medium and a plurality of the coloured silica particles. The liquid developers generally comprise a liquid medium, a resin, a pluraltiy of the coloured silica particles, and a charge-control agent. The particles are prepared by a process which comprises reacting hydrophilic silica particles with a silane coupling agent in the absence of water to form particles having covalently attached thereto coupling agents, followed by reacting a dye with the coupling agent attached to the silica particles.

    Abstract: Verfahren für den variablen Lithographiedruck, umfassend:das Auftragen eines Befeuchtungsmedium auf eine Bildgebungselementoberfläche, welche ein Silikon oder ein Fluorsilikon ist, wobei das Befeuchtungsmedium ein Hydrofluorether oder ein Silikon ist und bei 25 °C eine Flüssigkeit ist;das Bilden eines latenten Bildes durch Verdampfen des Befeuchtungsmediums aus selektiven Stellen auf der Bildgebungselementoberfläche, um hydrophobe Nicht-Bildbereiche und hydrophile Bildbereiche zu bilden;das Entwickeln des latenten Bilds durch Auftragen einer Tintenzusammensetzung, umfassend eine Vielzahl von härtbaren Verbindungen, wobei jede härtbare Verbindung einen Hansen-Fraktionsdispersionskraftparameter (fd) von 0,4 bis 0,62, einen Hansen-Fraktionspolarparameter (fp) von 0,1 bis 0,3 und einen Hansen-Fraktionswasserstoffbindungsparameter (fh) von 0,2 bis 0,4 aufweist, wobei die härtbare Verbindung ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus einem tetrafunktionellen acrylierten Polyesteroligomer, propoxyliertem Trimethylolpropantriacrylat, 1,6-Hexandiylbis[oxy(2-hydroxy-3,1-propanediyl)]bisacrylat, Glycerol-1,3-diglycerolatdiacrylat, Polyethylenglycoldiacrylat, Pentaerythritoltriacrylat, tris(2-Hydroxyethyl)isocyanurattriacrylat, Tripropylenglycoldiacrylat, hexafunktionellem acryliertem Polyesteroligomer und ethoxyliertem Trimethylolpropantriacrylat auf die hydrophilen Bildbereiche; unddas Übertragen des entwickelten latenten Bilds auf ein Aufnahmesubstrat.

    Abstract: A process for the preparation of toner compositions comprising: forming a mixture comprised of at least one free radical reactive monomer, a colorant, a stabilizer compound containing a stable free radical reactive group, and a liquid vehicle; and heating the mixture from about 75 to about 200 DEG C to effect polymerization of said monomer, wherein there results stabilized core resin particles containing said colorant and wherein said stabilized core particles are stabilized by said stable free radical reactive stabilizer compounds being bonded directly to the core particles.
