    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve quality and stability of an image by laminating a colorless toner composition on a charged substrate, laminating at least one type of an ink image on the toner and the substrate, and melting the image formed on the substrate. SOLUTION: A no-image side of a substrate (receiving substrate) can be charged by corona charging while substantially colorless toner particles are, for example, laminated on an opposite side or image receiving side of the substrate. The colorless toner preferably has an opposite polarity to that charged at the no-image side of the substrate. The colorless toner can be laminated on the substrate substantially complete and uniform coating ratio of the colorless toner to the substrate. An ink jet image formed on the substrate processed with the colorless toner reduces or excludes an image defect like substantially edge sharpness, bleeding prevention of an internal color, stitch speck, similar defect. Melting conducted by a combination of the ink image and the colorless toner is performed at the substrate by a known melting method theory.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for producing a toner, which suppresses sensitivity on variation of starting materials to the minimum and can use conventional treatment apparatuses and devices.
    SOLUTION: A process for reducing a particle size of latex resins and toners produced with the resins is provided. The process is carried out by allowing addition of a carboxylic acid to materials for producing a latex, decreasing a particle size of the obtained latex particles and toner particles. The materials for producing the latex resins and toners, which may produce a particle having a too large particle size in the absence of a carboxylic acid, may be enabled to use according to the invention.
