Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image drum having an appropriate textured surface useful for a solid ink jet marking system and to provide a method for producing the image drum.SOLUTION: An aluminum image drum 120 has an average surface texture in a range from about 0.05 to 0.7 microns to provide desirable surface oil consumption and high print quality for the solid ink jet marking system 100A and a surface texture having a supporting area in a range from about 2 to 100% at a cutting depth in a range from about 0.1 to 1 micron.
