Abstract: An inkjet external ink manifold is provided that allows for use of a jet stack that does not internally contain ink manifolds. The external ink manifold has a manifold body that includes one or more ink manifold chambers and includes ports arranged to connect the chambers to one or more ink reservoirs. The external ink manifold further includes an adhesive layer overlying and sealing the ink manifold chambers The adhesive layer includes a plurality of ports arranged to connect the external ink manifold chambers to the jet stack.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To align precisely and without remeasurement plate hole positions between a plurality of plates constituting a stack.
SOLUTION: A plurality of holes including plate positioning holes 44, 46 and 48 smaller than other holes are provided in plates 32, 34 and 36, respectively, and the plates 32, 34 and 36 are aligned with one another so that the hole positions are arranged in order. The aligning process are carried out with backlight by an automatic image recognition system. The respective holes are seen as bright small spots floating against a dark background because of the backlight, and the automatic image recognition system to detect the existence or non-existence of the spots and their positions is not influenced by reflections of the plates 32, 34 and 36. Further, the holes 44, 46 and 48 are provided in different positions from one other with respect to the hole array so that respective stacked steps are precisely advanced.
