Abstract: In a xerographic printing apparatus, a blade is used to clean the surface of a rotating photoreceptor. At an end of the blade is disposed a flexible sealing member. The sealing member includes a bulk portion, one part of which contacts the surface of the photoreceptor and another part of which is attached to a stationary surface. Extending from the bulk portion is a tab which defines a diagonal edge. A portion of the diagonal edge contacts a surface of the blade.

SOLUTION: In the module used in the electrophotographic printer, a substantially single-piece device 50 includes a cleaning blade 22, a seal flap 26 and a side seal 52 in order to engage with a photoreceptor. The device 50 can be easily replaced when the module is remanufactured.

SOLUTION: The residual toner damming assembly includes (a) a sealing member for locating against a moving toner image carrying surface upstream of the cleaning blade relative to movement of the moving toner image carrying surface and (b) a damming device located against the sealing member and projecting in a residual toner capturing angle relative to the moving toner image carrying surface for capturing and accumulating a desired quantity of residual toner particles against the moving toner image carrying surface, thereby increasing a number of residual toner particles reaching and lubricating the cleaning edge of cleaning blade against the image carrying surface.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device including a braid sticker making it possible to provide a functional housing, enabling the electrophotographic device to operate while preventing suspended toner particles from leaking out to a wrong area in the device, at the circumference of a photodetection body.
SOLUTION: In an electrophotographic printer, the surface of the photodetection body 10 which rotates is cleaned by using a blade 22. At an end part of the blade 22, a flexible seal member 70 is provided. The seal member 70 has a main body part 76 and a portion of it comes into contact with the surface of the photodetection body 10 while the other part is fixed to a stationary surface. A tab forming an oblique edge 72 is extended from the main body part 76. A portion of the oblique edge 72 comes into contact with the surface of the blade 22.
