    Abstract: A container for toner comprises a cylindrical drum 10 and two end caps (20, 40). At least one of the end cap (20) has a resiliently deformable sleeve portion (22) having inner and outer sleeve surfaces, the sleeve portion being snugly insertable into the drum. The outer sleeve surface (24) and the inner drum surface (12) are provided with snap-lock elements e.g. insert (14) with hollow area (26) of the sleeve (22) engagable to form a snap-lock. The inner drum surface is also provided with a circumferential rib (16) which, in use, is urged against the outer sleeve surface, thereby forming a leak tight seal between the drum and end cap (20).

    Abstract: A scorotron (10) used in xerography is connected to a voltage source within a printing apparatus through a pin (40). The pin (40) is anchored in an insulative end block (28) which defines channels (30,32,34) therein, each channel enclosing a portion of a corona member (20,22,24) which extends the length of the scorotron (10). Each corona member (20,22,24) defines a specially-shaped opening (21,23), the openings (21,23) of a plurality of corona members (20,22,24) being aligned to accept the pin (40) therethrough. A cover block (42) is placed over the end block (28) to complete the enclosure of the portions of the corona member (10). The cover block (42) also defines a collar (44) which surrounds a portion of the pin (40), and lugs (46) on which a screen of the scorotron (10) is mounted.

    Abstract: A process for making a corona wire assembly for use in an electrostatographic reproduction apparatus involves attachment of a terminal (16) to a corona wire (10). The process comprises the steps of positioning said terminal (16) and said corona wire (10) such that a portion of the corona wire is touching the terminal at a contact position; applying laser energy (18) to the contact position thereby melting at least part of the terminal (16) in the locality of the contact position; and solidification of the molten part of the terminal (16) thereby forming a bond with the corona wire (10). In a preferred aspect the process includes the additional step of laser trimming off of an end-tip of the corona wire.
