Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a laser fusion hole having a concentric entrance hole without fusion material outside of the diameter of the hole by covering a nozzle plate with a laser fusible thin film and making a hole through the nozzle plate by focusing a laser. SOLUTION: A removable thin protective film 40 is held firmly on the outer surface of a plate 20' trough a peelable adhesive. The film 40 is made of a cleanly fusible substance and adapted to the surface of a nozzle plate. A radiation output is derived from a laser 42 through an projection mask 44 and focused onto the film 40 and the nozzle plate 20'. A mask 44 corresponds to a channel in the front face of a print head and has an arranged opening. Since nozzles formed in the nozzle plate have substantially perfectly balanced holes, no fusion material is present around the hole on the surface of the nozzle plate.
