Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and a method for data communication of a code division multiple connection communication system are provided to maintain the compatibility with a CDMA 2000 system and to transmit the data of the sound and high speed and to use the rectangular code efficiently. CONSTITUTION: In the device and the method for data communication of the code division multiple connection communication system, two progresses are included. In the first progress, the subsets of the rectangular code and the reverse rectangular code composed of lines of 2n and rows of 2n are arranged with the matrix type and the rectangular codes appropriate to the rectangular code numbers of the rectangular code sets connected with at least one line of lines of 2n are assigned to the channels of the first system. Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for simultaneously supporting a voice service and a data service in a mobile communication system are provided to support both a voice service and a data service in the same frequency allocation range for the existing IS-2000 system and a high speed data transmission. CONSTITUTION: If there is a service request from a new user, an allocation manager initializes an internal variable 'num' AS '0'(511). The allocation manager compares the number of the current voice service users and the maximum number of voice service users and determines whether a Walsh orthogonal code is to be allocated to the new voice service user(513). If the number of the current voice service users computed on the assumption of addition of the new user is smaller than the maximum number of the voice service users, the allocation manger increases the value stored in the variable 'num' by '1'(515), or otherwise, moves a start point to the next slot(529). The allocation manager compares the increased variable value 'num' is identical to the number of the new user(517). If the variable 'num' is different from the number of new user, the allocation manager compares the number of voice service users when the two new users are added and the maximum number of voice service users(519).
