    Abstract: Pivot bushing (10) for casters and in which the stem for associating the caster with an article it is to support, is mounted. The bushing preferably is nonmetallic and fits into the caster stem mount (13) with a close fit for at least a portion of its depth with a clearance fit in the lower area where the stem must pass beyond an annular shoulder (26) in the bushing for retention. The bushing has a fully closed lower end (11) for retaining grease used to lubricate the stem for rotation in the bushing. The upper end of the bushing includes an integral cap-like enclosure, or shroud (17), which overlies the top end of the tube (13) for mounting the bushing and stem in a caster and which lends a finished appearance in this area. A vertical exterior bead (18) on one side of the bushing serves to engage a seam (19) in the mounting tube to position the bushing properly relative to the caster.

    Abstract: Coussinet (10) pour roue a pivot dans lequel la tige assujettissant la roue a l'article qu'il doit supporter est montee. Le coussinet de preference est non-metallique et s'encastre dans le montage de la tige de coussinet (13) avec un ajustement etroit pendant au moins une partie de sa profondeur avec un ajustement plus large dans la partie inferieure dans laquelle la tige doit passer au dela d'un epaulement annulaire (26) dans le coussinet pour la retention de la graisse. Le coussinet presente une partie inferieure completement fermee (11) pour la retention de la graisse, employee pour le graissage de la tige afin d'assurer sa rotation dans le coussinet. La partie superieure du coussinet comprend une cloture du type calotte integrale, ou voile (17) qui surplombe la partie superieure du tube (13) pour le montage de la tige du coussinet sur la roulette et qui prete une apparence de fini a cette zone. Une baguette verticale exterieure (18) sur un des cotes du coussinet s'engage dans une rainure (19) dans le tube de montage afin de positionner exactement le coussinet par rapport a la roue.
