Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for applying sealant material to the welded seams of an automobile body. The apparatus of the invention includes a reciprocating piston pump for supplying the material under pressure from a reservoir to an overhead distribution manifold. From a manifold the material is supplied to a plurality of extrusion guns through drop lines, each of which includes a volumetric metering gear pump for maintaining a constant flow rate to said guns irrespective of pressure changes which may occur in the distribution manifold.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a pressure equalizer for use in a feeder (10) designed to feed a ceramic enamel, or a paint in general, to a spray gun (P) of an automatic type in general, and in particular to a spray gun (P) associated with an enamelling or painting robot (15). The feeder (10) is of the type utilizing an air-operated pump (12) and the pressure equalizer (20) is mounted close to the spray gun (P). The pressure equalizer (20) includes a pressure sensing element (22) for sensing the pressure at which an enamel or paint is fed to a spray gun (P), the sensing element (22) applying the pressure changes in a throttling member (40) which is fitted in the line supplying compressed air to the air-operated pump (12) so as to ensure that a controlled constant flow of enamel or paint is fed to the associated spray gun (P) for any working position thereof.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus (10) for dispensing precise quantities of liquid reagent (14) is disclosed including a positive displacement syringe pump (22) in series with a dispenser (12), such as an aerosol dispenser (12a) or solenoid valve dispenser (12b). The pump (22) is controlled by a stepper motor (26) or the like to provide an incremental quantity or continuous flow of reagent (14) to the dispenser (12). The pump (22) and dispenser (12) are operated in cooperation with one another such that the quantity and/or flow rate of liquid reagent (14) dispensed by the dispenser (12) can be precisely metered substantially independently of the particular operating parameters of the dispenser (12) to attain a desired flow rate, droplet size or mist quality, droplet frequency and/or droplet velocity.
Abstract:
A package (10) for the metered dispensing of a liquid product which eliminates degradation of the product due to contact with air. The package consists of a sealed pressurized container (12) for the liquid product and a dispensing pump (14) mounted on the container. The pump includes a housing (18), a hollow stem (67) defining an induction passage (68) at the bottom of the housing, a piston (36) slidably mounted in the housing and a valve (54) slidably positioned over hollow stem (67) and biased upwardly against the piston. The piston is provided with an extension (44) defining a discharge passage (56); the extension carries an actuator (16) provided with a discharge orifice (64). Upon downward movement of the piston, liquid in the housing will be pressurized, and when sufficient hydraulic pressure is attained, valve (54) will move downwardly with respect to the piston to effect opening of discharge passage (56) and allow discharge of liquid from discharge orifice (64).
Abstract:
Apparatus for emitting bursts of scented liquid at intervals comprises a replaceable cartridge (27) which contains a reservoir of the liquid and which is fitted in a housing (1) of the apparatus. At intervals of time which are adjustable to the user, the apparatus produces bursts of spray from a nozzle (33) of the cartridge (27), the liquid droplets of the spray being carried upwardly away from the apparatus by a flow of air generated by a fan (25) in the housing (1).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for operating a system for maintaining a supply of a liquid available, and a system for this purpose, in particular for maintaining paint available for a paint spraying plant, with a storage container (2) and a working container (3). The liquid from the working container (3) flows via working pipeline to an operating installation for a paint-spray gun, as a result of applying pressure to the liquid in the working container (3). According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, after a preset filling height has been reached in the storage container (2), the working container (3) is topped up until a preset filling height is achieved in the working container (3), said filling height in turn enabling or triggering the refilling of the storage container.
Abstract:
Protective means for an exposed working part of an aerosol container. A spray head with a protective cap of the invention comprises a nonrotatable member (1), a rotatable member (2), a push button (3), a projecting pipe (4), and a push lid (5); wherein the nonrotatable member (1) has a cutout part (12) and also a cylindrical wall (11) supported nonrotatably by a spray container (K), the rotatable member (2) having a cylindrical wall (21) which is coaxial with said cylindrical wall (11), said cylindrical wall (21) having a window hole (22) thereon, being circumscribed with said cylindrical wall (11) to be rotatably supported by the spray container (K), said rotatable member having a range of rotation between an operating position at which the window hole (22) is located at a point (A) in front of a push button (3) and within an angular range of the cutout part (12) of the nonrotatable member and a nonoperating position at which said window hole (22) being located at a point (B) within an angular range of the part of the cylindrical wall of the rotatable member where the wall thereof has no cutout part, the push button (3) being fitted to a valve stem (K1) to be supported nonrotatably by the spray container as well, the projected pipe (4) being supported by the push button so as to be restored to a straight-line form from a bent form, and the push lid (5) closing the top of the rotatable member, being supported at its operating position by the push button so as to be associated with said button. According to the invention, changeover from a nonoperating position to an operating position or from an operating position to a nonoperating position can be achieved by giving only a single turn to the rotatable member (2) corresponding to a cap of the spray head, while at an operating position the projecting pipe (4) protrudes from the protective cap and at a nonoperating postion said projecting pipe (4) is housed in the protective cap.
