Un aparato para el recubrimiento de una tela (20) incluye un rodillo de suministro (26) de la tela (22) y un huso devanador (86) para recibir una longitud discreta de la tela (22). El fluido es descargado desde una matriz de recubrimiento (92) en una direccion hacia el huso devanador (86) para recubrir la tela (22) a medida que la tela (22) es devanada alrededor del huso devanador (86). Una bomba (108) de velocidad variable dirige el fluido a través de la matriz de recubrimiento a la velocidad de avance de la tela (22). EL aparato (20) es particularmenteutil para recubrir longitudes discretas de una cinta de entablillado y enyesado ortopédico que es empacada para el uso de un solo paciente.

A method of supplying paint at a site of application thereof comprises the storing of the pigment component of one or more paints in small containers (6,7) separately from the carrier components of a paint or paints stored in a large container (1). A selected pigment may then be mixed with the correct proportion of carrier just prior to application of the paint in blender pumps,(4 ; 5) connected to the appropriate containers.

A web coating apparatus (20) includes a supply roll (26) of web (22) and a wind-up spindle (86) for receiving a discrete length of the web (22). Fluid is discharged from a coating die (92) in a direction toward the wind-up spindle (86) to coat the web (22) as the web (22) is wound about the wind-up spindle (86). A variable speed pump (108) directs fluid through the coating die (92) at flow rate that is proportional to the speed of advancement of the web (22). The apparatus (20) is particularly useful for coating discrete lengths of orthopedic splinting and casting tape that is packaged for single patient use.

@ The apparatus for applying to a road, (1), run-way or equivalent a point-formed or dotted paint or marking (M") especially a traffic indication line comprises a reservoir (R) containing a supply of highly viscous material (M) to be applied to the road (1) and a nozzle section (10, 10') in itself comprising - conduits (11) ending in orifice zones (11', 11") for forming preliminary stages (M') of highly viscous drops and - means (20, 20', 20") for flinging the drops down into engagement with the road (1). In a mechanical embodiment the orifice zones (11') of the conduits (11) are placed on a cylinder surface (12) and are mutually separated by means of partition walls (13) and the means (20) for flinging the material down into engagement with the road comprise a rotatory shaft (21) and a number of shovel blades (22). In a pneumatic embodiment the means (30) for flinging the drops down into engagement with the road (1) comprise a plurality of compressed air tubes (20') each leading to an orifice zone (11") and another plurality of tubes (20") leading away from the said zone (11"). These apparatus constitute simple and cheap embodiments of an apparatus which effectively flings the marking mass into contact with the road.

Vorrichtung zur Herstellung von semipermeablen, asymmetrischen, großflächig ausgelegten Verbund-Folien bzw. von solchen Filter-Membranen für Umkehrosmose- Anlagen - wobei die Verbund-Folien aus einer stärkeren, porösen Träger-Schicht (31) aus Papier oder Kunststoff und aus einem, auf derselben aufgebrachten, verhältnismäßig dünnen Film aus einem Polymer als wirksame Trenn- Schicht (32) von unter 0,1 µm aufgebaut sind -, welche Vorrichtung im wesentlichen aus einem Vakuum-Behälter (10), mit einem Einlaß (15) für ein Gasgemisch (32a) aus Monomeren als Ausgangsstoffe für die betreffende Be schichtungs-Substanz sowie einem inerten Gas und aus einem außerhalb dieses Vakuum-Behälters (10) angeordne ten Hochfrequenzsender HF 40 besteht, der am Behälter zwecks Zündung des darin befindlichen Gasgemisches (32a) angekoppelt ist, wobei im Vakuum-Behälter (10) mit einem Förderorgan (21-22) eine breite Bahn der porösen Träger-Schicht (31) kontinuierlich in vertikaler Richtung be wegbar ist, welche Träger-Bahn mit der, aus den in Gasge misch zugeführten Monomeren als Polymer aufgebauten, wirksamen Trenn-Schicht (32) beschichtbar ist und wobei die Trenn-Schicht aus einem Polymer von hochvernetztem molekularem Aufbau oder/und aus stickstoffhaltigen Ver bindungen besteht.
