Abstract: An aerial reconnaissance drone having a dragonfly format (elongate fuselage and flapping wings) with two cameras 4', 4" having respective diagonal fields of view 5', 5", arranged at respective ends of the fuselage, both pointing forwards, wherein the second camera has a diagonal field 5" of view that is at most half that 5' of the first camera 4'. This has the advantage of providing a drone that can capture enhanced imagery when required, by performing a half turn and switching which camera is being used. Since this avoids placing two cameras in the same location both can have a clear view of surroundings yet it helps avoid off balance caused by placing too much mass in any particular off-centre location.

Abstract: Methods and systems for unmanned aerial vehicles are provided. One method includes receiving, by a control system, sensor data from a mobile ground-based platform and sensor data from a ground-based radar surveillance system, the control system configured to communicate with a first UAV and a second UAV; detecting, by the control system, an object likely to impede the second UAV flight within a flight path, the object detected based on the sensor data received from the mobile ground-based platform, the ground-based radar surveillance system or both the ground-based radar surveillance system and the mobile ground-based platform; generating, by the control system, an indicator indicating an object in the flight path; and transmitting, by the control system, the indicator to the first UAV.

El sistema es aplicado a través de una plataforma (PaaS) para administrar, controlar y registrar el proceso, y para combinar la actividad de una pluralidad de drones.

Abstract: In a particular embodiment, coordinating an aerial search among unmanned aerial vehicles is disclosed that includes receiving, by a server in a UAV transportation ecosystem, search area data, accessing, by the server, UAV parameters for a type of UAV, determining, by the server in dependence upon the search area data and the UAV parameters, a number of UAVs needed to complete a coordinated aerial search of a search area within a time limit, and partitioning, by the server, the search area into a plurality of partitions, wherein the number of partitions is equal to the number of UAVs.

Abstract: The technology relates to service dispatchers for fleet management and flight planning systems. A method for dispatching vehicles for service includes receiving, by a service dispatcher, a first input comprising a plurality of state data of a fleet of aerial vehicles and a second input comprising a service objective; determining, using the first input, that one or more aerial vehicles in the fleet meets a set of criteria associated with performing the service objective; submitting a bid on the one or more aerial vehicles, the bid configured to induce a vehicle allocator to allocate the one or more aerial vehicles to the service dispatcher; receiving an allocation of some or all of the one or more aerial vehicles; generating a plan to use the allocation to perform the service objective; and dispatching the allocation according to the plan.
