Abstract: Techniques for implementing and operating a system (10) that includes a pipe segment (20), which has tubing (22) that defines a bore (32) and a fluid conduit (24) implemented in an annulus of the tubing (22), and a test head (44). The test head (44) includes a shell (74), which defines an annulus cavity (78), and an inflatable bladder (80) implemented in the annulus cavity (78), in which the system (10) maintains the inflatable securing bladder (80) in a less inflated state while pipe segment (20) tubing is not present in the annulus cavity (78) and increases inflation of the inflatable bladder (80) to a more inflated state when the tubing (22) is present in the annulus cavity (78) to facilitate securing and sealing an open end of the pipe segment (20) in the test head (44) to enable integrity of the tubing (22) to be tested at least in part by flowing a test fluid into the annulus of the tubing (22) via a testing port (82) on the shell (74).

Abstract: A pipe connector, particularly for a commercial plumbing pipe (P), comprising a body (1) with a tubular part (11) having an outer face with a projecting feature, such as a sealing ring (2), to seal with the pipe. A collet (3) is fixed to the body (1) and spaced from the tubular part (11) to form a cavity for the pipe. A locking cap (4) is screwed onto collet (3) to deflect the collet onto the pipe (P) and the pipe onto the tubular part (11) to seal between the body (1) and the pipe (P). The inner diameter at an open end of the collet (3) is preferably greater than the inner diameter of the distal part that receives the pipe. A enhanced leakage path may be provided around the sealing ring (2) in the unlocked configuration. A method of moulding a collet (3) is also disclosed.

Abstract: Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Rohrverbindungs-Applikator mit einem Kontrollgerät und ein Verfahren zum Herstellen einer Verbindung zwischen einem ersten Rohrelement und einem zweiten Rohrelement. Der Rohrverbindungs-Applikator mit einem Kontrollgerät erfasst dabei über Mittel zur Istwerterfassung die Ist-Prozessparameter. Der Rohrverbindungs-Applikator mit einem Kontrollgerät und das Verfahren bestimmt daraus die Soll-Prozessparameter für Prozesssteuerungsmittel zum Steuern der an eine zu erstellende Rohrverbindung abzugebenden Prozessparameter. Der Rohrverbindungs-Applikator mit einem Kontrollgerät vergleicht optional wenigstens einen Istwert der Prozessparameter mit wenigstens einem Soll-Prozessparameter und gibt bei Abweichung von wenigstens einem Toleranzwertebereich einen Alarm an den Benutzer aus und/oder erstellt ein Fehlerprotokoll.

Abstract: A pipeline pressure test that accounts for measurement uncertainties includes a method for performing a pressure test of a pipe section of a pipeline including receiving a desired pressure to be applied to the pipe section and a duration of time the desired pressure is to be applied to the pipe section, receiving a pressure measurement of a fluid, a temperature measurement of the fluid, a volume measurement of the fluid, and a pipe section strain measurement, determining a change in fluid pressure and a volume change, determining a pressure change uncertainty and a volume change uncertainty, checking that the pressure change uncertainty is within a pressure uncertainty threshold and that the volume change uncertainty is within a volume uncertainty threshold, determining whether the desired pressure has been applied to the inner surface of the pipe section for the duration of time; and outputting a result of the testing.

Abstract: The invention refers to an assembly for monitoring at least one of the temperature and the strain of a pipe. The assembly comprises at least one optical fiber, each optical fiber comprising at least one Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor for monitoring the at least one parameter and a coupling device couplable to an inner surface of the pipe. The coupling device has a first surface that is configured to be in direct contact with the fluid and a second surface comprising at least one longitudinal channel to house the at least one optical fiber. The second surface is configured to be in direct contact with the inner surface of the pipe and to be isolated from the fluid.
