PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic drive causing desired movement by easy control. SOLUTION: The electrostatic drive 150 is provided with a mover 154 including a plurality of mover electrodes 152 and a stator 158 including a plurality of stator electrodes 156. The mover and the stator can be relatively moved between the mover electrodes 152 and the stator electrodes 156 by electrostatic force. The electrostatic drive includes a driver 160 configured to place the stator electrodes 156 in any of a plurality of sequential voltage states. A step size of relative movement is produced between the mover 154 and the stator 158 by transition from a voltage state to an adjacent voltage state. For each voltage state, voltage applied to one of the stator electrodes is selectively changed to an amount between LO and HI voltage levels and the driver 160 can further reduce the step size. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitive position sensor having high accuracy and sensitivity. SOLUTION: Two plate capacitors with space, where their capacitors vary when objects mutually move in an effective range along an axis, is formed by constituting first plates (178, 180) and second plates (166, 168, 172, 174). Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve delay in current interruption by arc in opening and the wear of the surface of an electrode for extending the service life by relatively arranging a first electrode and a second electrode contactable with and separable from the first electrode under reduced pressure, and forming a carbonaceous electron emitting film as the field electron emitting area on both the electrode surfaces. SOLUTION: A fixed electrode and a movable electrode contactable with and separable from it are arranged relatively under the reduced pressure of a vacuum casing, and a carbonaceous thin film that is a field electron emitting layer is formed on a part of both the electrode surfaces by plasma CVD method. As the carbonaceous thin film, a polycrystalline diamond layer reduced in resistance by boron dope to regulate the electron emitting threshold field to about 10 V/μm is used form the viewpoint of the durability to impact in current re- input. According to this, the current is replaced by the field emitting electron current accompanying opening of a pole, and when the electric field is reduced by the separation of the electrodes, the electron emission is quickly settled, and the current can be interrupted without waiting for the current zero point. Thus, generation of arc can be suppressed to extend the service life.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Netzbeeinflussungsanlage eines Energieversorgungsnetzes (4) mit einer stromdurchflossenen Netzbeeinflussungskomponente (6) und mit einer Kurzschließvorrichtung (8), wobei die Kurzschließvorrichtung (8) einen Leistungsschalter (10) umfasst. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass der Leistungsschalter (10) ein Vakuum-Leistungsschalter mit einer Vakuum-Leistungsschalterröhre ist, die eine zumindest teilweise integrierte Vorzündvorrichtung (12) zur aktiven Erzeugung eines Lichtbogens (14) zwischen zwei Kontakten (19, 34) enthält.

The proposed method of producing an electrical discharge involves the creation of a voltage between an anode (2) and a cathode (3) and the initiation of an electrical discharge with the cathode spots to produce a plasma-forming substance. While this substance is maintained, the anode (2) and cathode (3) are constantly moved in relation to each other at a predetermined speed. The flow distribution of the plasma-forming substance is regulated in a zone bounded by the maximum length (1) of the electrical discharge column. The device for which protection is being sought comprises a vacuum chamber (1) in which are located an anode (2) and a cathode (3), a mechanism (4) for feeding the cathode in relation to the anode, a power source (10) and a group of electrically neutral screens (6, 7) to regulate the flow distribution of the plasma-forming substance.
Abstract:
In accordance with the invention, improved vacuum microtube devices are provided with arrangements for tunably spacing the gate and the cathode. Tuning can be effected by using an electrostatic or magnetic actuator to move the gate on a spring or a rail. Advantageously a feedback arrangement can be used to control the spacing. Magnetic reassembly components can be provided for facilitating release of tube components in fabrication.
