Abstract: A peak detector for a power amplifier is provided that includes a threshold voltage detector configured to pulse a detection current in response to an amplified output signal from the amplifier exceeding a peak threshold. A plurality of such peak detectors may be integrated with a corresponding plurality of power amplifiers in a transmitter. Should any peak detector assert an alarm signal or more than a threshold number of alarm signals during a given period, a controller reduces a gain for the plurality of power amplifiers.

Abstract: A phased array element includes a transmit portion having a plurality of amplifier paths, each amplifier path having a driver amplifier and a power amplifier, a first transformer coupled to the power amplifier of a first amplifier path of the plurality of amplifier paths and a second transformer coupled to the power amplifier of a second amplifier path of the plurality of amplifier paths, a secondary winding of each of the first transformer and the second transformer coupled together by a common transformer segment, a transmit phase shifter switchably coupled to the plurality of amplifier paths, a receive portion coupled to the second transformer, the receive portion having a receive path having a low noise amplifier (LNA), and a receive phase shifter coupled to the LNA.

Abstract: A method for determining a displacement offset of a voice coil of a speaker, comprising: providing a drive signal comprised of a program content signal and a test signal to the voice coil of the speaker; determining at least one value representative of an impedance of the voice coil according to a voice coil voltage and a voice coil current, wherein the voice coil voltage and the voice coil current result from, at least, the test signal; determining whether the at least one value indicates that an offset displacement of the voice coil exceeds a predetermined offset distance; and reducing a magnitude of the drive signal provided to the voice coil if the at least one value indicates that the offset displacement of the voice coil exceeds the predetermined offset threshold.

Abstract: A receiver circuit is disclosed. The receiver circuit includes an amplifier having an input terminal, where the amplifier is configured to generate an RF signal based on a signal received at the input terminal, where the RF signal includes an information signal and a blocker signal modulating an RF carrier frequency. The receiver circuit also includes a mixer configured to receive the RF signal and to downconvert the RF signal to generate a baseband signal, where the baseband signal includes the information signal and the blocker signal modulating a baseband carrier frequency, where the baseband carrier frequency is less than the RF carrier frequency, and where the mixer is further configured to selectively attenuate the blocker signal.
