Abstract: Adhesive tape rolls having detackified side faces are presented, and methods of their manufacture. In one embodiment, the method comprises applying one or more inks to a side face of an adhesive tape roll with an ink jet printing system. In some embodiments, inks are applied in an image-wise manner so as to create a pattern, text or graphics, which may include: barcodes. QR codes, brand information, manufacturing information, or remaining roll quantity indicia. In one aspect, the present methods enable elimination of packaging materials by two concurrent advantages: a) detackifying the side faces, which eliminates the need for packaging materials to prevent blocking of stacked rolls and accumulation of debris on side faces; and b) producing an adhesive tape roll bearing text, graphics, or other information on the side face of the roll, which eliminates the need for packaging materials to bear such information.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to darkening filters 10, 10′ which are suitable for selectively darkening an optically transmissive window 20 for protection from light, in particular from high intensity light. The darkening filter 10, 10′ is mounted in a forward-facing optically transmissive window 20 and comprises a non-uniform pattern 30 of switchable shutters 32 capable of being switching to at least a dark state and a light state by a shutter control system 40. The present disclosure also relates to a method of operating such darkening filters 10, 10′. The present disclosure furthermore relates to vision-protective headgears 100, 100′, welding shields 110 and panes 120 comprising the darkening filters 10, 10′ according to the present disclosure.

Abstract: The disclosed process challenge device is a casing and a self-contained biological indicator operatively connected to the casing. The biological indicator has a housing with an open end and an interior space, a plurality of viable test microorganisms or an active enzyme in the housing, a sterilant pathway extending through the housing to the test microorganisms or the active enzyme, a detection reagent in the interior space, and an aqueous liquid in an openable container. The aqueous liquid is in selective communication with the viable test microorganisms or active enzyme. A first portion of the biological indicator has an open end and is disposed in the casing and a second portion of the self-contained biological indicator is disposed outside the casing. The second portion of the biological indicator comprises a part of the housing through which the aqueous liquid and detection reagent can be observed.

Abstract: The system comprises of a fluid container, a replaceable applicator head and a compatible, viscous antiseptic solution. The primary advantage is substantially drip free application. The system is non-vented and non-collapsible. The fluid container is non-compressible and comprises a prepping solution, a threaded spout and a container seal. The applicator head consists of a body to which a foam pad is attached and a channel through which the solution flows into the foam when the applicator head is connected to the fluid container. The applicator head when fixed onto the fluid container breaks the seal and creates a continuous channel that is non-vented for the solution to flow into the foam pad.

Abstract: An optical stack includes an optical film and an optical adhesive disposed on the optical film. The optical adhesive has a major structured surface facing away from the optical film that includes a plurality of channels formed therein. The channels define a plurality of substantially flat land regions therebetween. The land regions include at least about 50% of a total surface area of the major structured surface. When the optical stack is placed on a support surface with the major structured surface of the optical adhesive contacting the support surface, the optical stack bonds to the support surface and may be removed from, or slidingly repositioned on, the support surface without damage to the optical adhesive or the support surface, and upon application of at least one of heat and pressure, the optical stack substantially permanently bonds to the support surface and the plurality of channels substantially disappear.
