A cable connector assembly and method of assembling the same. The cable connector assembly includes a cable connector and a cable connected to the cable connector. The cable connector includes an insulative body, a plurality of terminals held in the insulative body, an internal member molded in the cable connector, and a plastic housing disposed outside of the internal member. The internal member includes a through hole penetrating obliquely the internal member. The through hole includes a first opening proximal to the cable and a second opening distal from the cable. Adhesive is filled the through hole from the first opening through the second opening to contact with an inner surface of the plastic housing.

A cable connector assembly includes a cable connector comprising an insulative housing and a plurality of conductive terminals mounted in the insulative housing, the conductive terminal having a connecting portion; a cable having a plurality of wires electrically connecting with the connecting portions, the wire comprising a core, an insulative layer enclosing the core, and a grounding layer enclosing the insulative layer, the core extending beyond the grounding layer; and a conductive element electrically connecting with the connecting portion of a selected conductive terminal. A cable connector assembly for mating with a mating connector, including: a printed circuit board (PCB), a mating member mounded on the PCB, an insulative housing receiving the PCB, and a cable extended from the insulative housing. The PCB includes a first portion made of flexible material, a second portion bent and extended from one side of the first portion, and a third portion bent and extended from another side of the first portion. The mating member is soldered on the first portion. The cable is soldered with the second portion and the third portion.

The wires includes a plurality of differential signal wires (11) for transmitting high speed signal, a detection signal wire (12), at least one auxiliary signal wire (13), and a plurality of lower speed signal wires (14). All of the differential signal wires, the detection signal wire and the at least one auxiliary signal wire are arranged at an outer peripheral of and enclosing the lower signal wires. Each two adjacent differential signal wire pairs are separated by one of the detection signal wire and the at least one auxiliary signal wire.

A plug connector assembly includes a bottom metallic shell having a lower wall, a front wall, a rear wall, a left wall, and a right wall, and defining a receiving slot. The front wall has an inserting groove extending therethrough along a front-to-back direction and a mounting slit extending downwardly from a top edge of the front wall and communicating to the inserting groove. A top metallic shell assembled to the bottom metallic shell along a top-to-bottom direction has a plurality of side walls, an opening defined by the side walls, and a front wall extending downwardly from of the side walls and abutting against the front wall of the bottom metallic shell to seal the mounting slit. A printed circuit board (PCB) is located in the receiving slot and enclosed by the bottom and top shells. A connector connects with a top section of the PCB.
