Abstract:
The invention concerns a variable-length crutch 1 comprising a main body 2, a foot 5 extensible and retractable with respect to said main body 2, and an actuator comprising a motor 6 with a rotary output shaft 9 and a worm transmission in order to convert a rotation of said motor shaft 9 into a linear movement of said foot 5 with respect to the main body 2. The worm transmission is irreversible. The actuator also comprises a programmable module 8 controlling the motor 6 and a sensor 10 for extending the foot 5 with respect to the main body 2. The module 8 is connected to said motor 6 in order to control the extension and/or retraction of the crutch to a preprogrammed length and to stop the motor 6 when said length is reached.
Abstract:
A wheeled walker with a removable utility tray has a frame, front and rear wheels, a pivotable seat, height-adjustable handlebars, push handles, a back rest, brake handles and cables to arrest the walker, a pair of crossbars supporting the frame and a detachable utility tray with a lip to engage the top crossbar, front and side walls, a pair of tray supports extending from the bottom of the tray base down and to the rear and terminating at the bottom crossbar, the lower ends of the supports having a locking groove for engaging the bottom crossbar and a pair of horizontal braces between the tray supports.
Abstract:
A portable, foldable, and multifunctional mobility aid apparatus that assists a user in standing, sitting, and/or walking process. The apparatus has an integrated power source and is based on 4 wheels. Users can stand on it and drive it as an electric mobility device, or disable it and use it as a passive walker. The apparatus has a pair of supporting beams with adjustable width to be placed under the user armpits and support the user in standing up, sitting down, and/or moving around. The apparatus can be controlled by a control panel mounted on a pair of handles, and its functions can be controlled by the user with no need for help from another person. The apparatus can be minimized by a combination of multiple telescopic vertical minimization mechanisms and multiple folding mechanisms.
Abstract:
A therapy vibration device, for use in increasing blood flow, relaxing muscles and the like in patients, including a support structure, at least one vibration plate coupled to the support structure, and at least one motor coupled to the at least one vibration plate. At least one power source is coupled to the at least one motor and at least one ramp coupled to the vibration plate. At least one railing may also be coupled to the support structure. Additional embodiments include a control system, including at least one payment system, coupled to the therapy vibration device. Alternative embodiments also include an additional therapy device in vibrational communication with the at least one vibration plate.
Abstract:
A stretching device for therapy contains a base including a inclined foot platform axially connected with a rear end thereof and tilting backward, a frame for the inclined foot platform having a horizontal support to abut against or be connected to an upright member extending upwardly from the front end thereof, and the upright member having two handle loops mounted thereon relative to a user's waist, the inclined foot platform is lifted to be used as an oblique platform. Accordingly, the user is capable of stretching calves, hamstrings, lower back, upper back, shoulders and neck, also to provide traction to the spine.
Abstract:
A foldable seat for a walking aid. The foldable seat includes a rigidly affixed leg for added stability. The foldable seat is further configured to move from a use position in a support area of the walking aid to a storage area that minimizes the interference of the foldable seat with a user in the support area. The foldable seat moves in such a manner that the seat remains substantially parallel to the ground.
Abstract:
An exercise device for stretching a user's muscles is disclosed. The exercise device includes a pliable substantially non-resilient cord having a length between a first end and a second end, and a plurality of ball shaped handles positioned along the length of the pliable substantially non-resilient cord. Each of the plurality of ball shaped handles is fixedly attached to the pliable substantially non-resilient cord with a plurality of handle fasteners.
Abstract:
A segmented adaptable mobility aid device is disclosed that has length-adjustable front and rear legs, a handle, and a knee support platform coupled to the legs and the handle, the legs being adjustable within a range of lengths suitable to straddle steps for ascending and descending stairways, as well as to function on the level, or on a ramp. The lengths of the legs can be adjusted in tandem via single-hand operability of an adjustment mechanism. The knee support platform provides support for an impaired lower leg of a user, not requiring the leg to contact the stairs, and also not requiring the leg to be held mid-air in a hopping motion. The handle enables one-handed use of the segmented adaptable mobility aid device. In some embodiments, spring loaded pins or a pull bar to activate the pins, enable the single-hand operability of the adjustment mechanism.
Abstract:
A length adjustable cane for assisting a user with mobility on surfaces having different heights includes a cylindrical outer tube and a cylindrical core member configured to be received in the outer tube and telescopically movable between retracted and extended configurations relative thereto. A handle is connected to an upper end of the core member. An actuator lever is coupled to the handle and accessible to a hand of the user, the actuator lever being movable between actuated and released configurations. A latching mechanism is situated in the outer tube proximate the open end thereof. A drawbar having an elongate configuration is positioned in an interior of the core member. The drawbar includes a first end coupled to the actuator lever and a second end operatively coupled to the latching mechanism. Operation of the actuator lever operates the latching mechanism to selectively allow length adjustment of the cane.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a leg-stretching exercise apparatus comprising a base, a handle connected to the base about a front vertical member assembly extending from the front thereof, a waist belt extending from a rear vertical member extending from the rear of the base, and a pair of generally horizontal track assemblies extending collinearly from either side of the base. Each track assembly comprises at least one rail pipe extending between a pair of proximal and distal blocks, a foot-supporting platform coupled to the at least one rail pipe such that the platform can slide along the length thereof, and a resilient member connecting the platform to the proximal block.
