Abstract:
Lubricating solutions are used on conveying systems in the beverage industry during the filling of containers with dairy products or other beverages. Lubricating compositions of the present invention, especially those designed for use in heavy load bearing conveyors such as those in the dairy industry conveying systems for contained beverages, comprise at least the following components: a) an alkyl alkoxylated (e.g., ethoxylated or propoxylated, preferably ethoxylated) phosphate ester, b) a secondary alcohol alkoxylate, (with an optional aryl nulle.g., aromatic, such as phenolnull alkoxylated nulle.g., ethoxylated or propoxylatednull phosphate ester), c) an aromatic or linear quaternary ammonium antimicrobial agent, and d) a liquid carrier, such as water. These lubricating solutions are capable of providing good lubricity and antimicrobial activity over a prolonged time and under high stress and heavy loads.
Abstract:
Industrial oils containing partial esters of triacylglycerol and triethanolamine or ethoxylated triethanolamine are described, as well as methods for making such oils.
Abstract:
There are disclosed corrosion inhibiting compositions comprising (a) at least one amido acid or salt thereof and (b) at least one of an aryltriazole or 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole wherein the molar ratio of (a) to (b) is about 0.34:1 to about 5:1, and aqueous metal working fluids containing the corrosion inhibiting compositions of the invention.
Abstract:
A lubricant composition comprising a lubricating agent and a quaternary phosphonium compound is useful as a conveyor, container or beverage lubricant.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel lubricant compositions comprising a solid lubricant and a binding agent in water medium suitable for lubricating steel-steel interfaces such as tractor-trailer couplings, rail-wheel systems and other heavy duty applications. The invention also relates to compositions described above which include friction modifiers with high or very high and positive coefficients of friction such that the coefficient of friction is considerably higher than the solid lubricant. The invention further relates to compositions comprising a binding agent and a friction modifier with a very high and positive coefficient of friction in a water medium.
Abstract:
The lubricant of this invention is a combination of a PLURONIC.RTM. polyol and a phospholipid. The lubricant is applied to the surface to be lubricated by forming a solution of water and the lubricant. This solution may also include Vitamin E or its derivative. In addition, a solution stabilizer and an antimicrobial agent may be used to clarify the solution and to inhibit microbial growth in the solution.
Abstract:
A cleaning and lubricant formulation for use on spindles on cotton picker or harvesting machines that simultaneously cleans and lubricates the surface of the spindles. The formulation features a major proportion of water and amounts of unsaturated fatty acids, glycol ether and alcohol solvents, nonionic surfactant, amide cosurfactant, and polycarboxylic acid. An alkalizing agent is added to control the pH of the resulting formulation. The cleaning and lubricant formulation exhibits excellent cleaning and lubrication properties without utilizing petroleum oil that can contaminate cotton fields, water supplies or the harvested cotton.
