Abstract: A system for assisting a user in moving a device relative to a structure comprises a magnetorheological (MR) fluid actuator unit including at least one torque source and at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus having an input coupled to the at least one torque source to receive torque from the at least one torque source, the MR fluid clutch apparatus controllable to transmit a variable amount of assistance force via an output thereof. An interface is configured for coupling the output of the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus to the device or surrounding structure. At least one sensor provides information about a movement of the device. A processor unit for controlling the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus in exerting the variable amount of assistance force as a function of said information, wherein the system is configured for one of the MR fluid actuator unit and the interface to be coupled to the structure, and for the other of the MR fluid actuator unit and the interface to be coupled to the device for the assistance force from the MR fluid actuator unit to assist in moving the device.

Abstract: An electric lock includes a housing, a clutch mechanism and a manual control member. The housing is formed with a driving structure having a first inclined surface, a second inclined surface and a bottom surface. The clutch mechanism includes a driving member having a pushing structure, an elastic member arranged on the driving member for abutting against the driving structure, a rotating member having a pushed structure, and a motor for driving the driving member to rotate. The manual control member is connected to the rotating member. When the motor drives the driving member to rotate relative to the driving structure, the elastic member abuts against the first or second inclined surface to push the driving member to move toward the rotating member, so as to allow the pushing structure to abut against the pushed structure, in order to further drive the rotating member to rotate the manual control member.

Each tooth has an undercut contact surface (113) and a curved bearing surface (114). The clutch assembly includes a bottom disc (120) and a top disc (121).

Abstract: A vehicular opening/closing body control device includes: a braking control unit configured to apply a braking force to an opening/closing body provided in an opening in a vehicle; a position detection unit configured to detect an opening/closing operation position of the opening/closing body; and a traveling state determination unit configured to determine a traveling state of the vehicle, wherein the opening/closing body is opened/closed along a movement path, which is formed by a guide rail and a guide roller engaged with the guide rail, the guide rail includes a curved portion, which is curved in a width direction of the vehicle, and the braking control unit executes braking control in a case where the opening/closing operation position of the opening/closing body is within a specific range, which is set in the movement path of the opening/closing body to correspond to the curved portion of the guide rail.

Abstract: An actuator for opening and closing a hinged device is provided. In particular, the actuator is a power tailgate actuator. The actuator comprises a motor with a rotor, and an output shaft that rotates on an axis which is substantially parallel to the axis on which lies the rotor of the motor. The actuator has a rotary position sensor such as a rotary potentiometer which positively identifies the position of the tailgate. The tailgate also comprises a clutch which can engage and disengage depending on the mode of operation.
