Abstract:
An operation management to grasp a metric in which a continuous abnormality has occurred in a system, easily, is provided. An operation management apparatus 100 includes a metric collection unit (101) and an abnormality score calculation unit (104). The metric collection unit (101) collects a measured value of each of a plurality of metrics in a system sequentially. The abnormality score calculation unit (104) calculates and outputs, on the basis of a continuity level indicating a degree of continuity of an abnormality of the measurement value for each of the plurality of metrics at each time, an abnormality score for the metric.
Abstract:
An access data collector collects access assignment data characterizing active access assignment operations of a hypervisor in assigning host computing resources among virtual machines for use in execution of the virtual machines. Then, a capacity risk indicator calculator calculates a capacity risk indicator characterizing a capacity risk of the host computing resources with respect to meeting a prospective capacity demand of the virtual machines, based on the access assignment data
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a method to be performed in an electronic device, for monitoring the execution of a software program including at least one watched process, the monitoring method including periodic reading, by a supervisor process, of a memory zone shared by the watched process and the supervisor process. According to an embodiment, the method further includes conditional forcing, by the supervisor process, of a booting of a watched process of the software program, the conditional forcing taking into account an update of a first read memory zone between two successive readings and a previous conditional forcing. The disclosure also relates to the corresponding electronic device, communication system, computer readable program product and computer readable storage medium.
Abstract:
A server system having functionality of group alerting is disclosed. Said server system comprises: a plurality of server computers having alert notification capabilities, the plurality of server computers being divided into at least one group; and a management console node managing and monitoring the plurality of server computers; wherein the alert notification is issued by a group of the at least one group of the plurality of server computers when a health problem of a server computer in said group of the at least one group of the plurality of server computers occurs.
Abstract:
An information handling system includes a method for detecting a predictive failure indication for a predictive failure indicated physical disk of a disk group, determining an amount of used storage capacity of a lowest capacity physical disk of the disk group, and comparing a replacement physical disk storage capacity of a replacement physical disk to the used storage capacity. When the replacement physical disk capacity is greater than or equal to the used storage capacity even if the replacement physical disk capacity is less than a lowest storage capacity of the lowest capacity physical disk of the disk group, replacing the predictive failure indicated physical disk with the replacement physical disk.
Abstract:
A method of data progression in a data storage system having at least two tiers of storage space. A first tier may include storage space in a SLC SSD and a second tier may include storage space in a MLC SSD. The method may include setting a predetermined free space threshold for the first tier of storage space, monitoring free space in the first tier of storage space, and when the amount of available free space in the first tier of storage space decreases to the predetermined free space threshold, generating an on-demand snapshot of at least a portion of the data of the first tier of storage space by designating that data as read-only. The on-demand snapshot may then be transferred to the second tier of storage space, thereby freeing the corresponding portion of data of the first tier of storage space for new writes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for indicating flash memory life. While data is being stored in a flash memory, the number of writes in a plurality of blocks of the flash memory increases. The amount of flash memory life is calculated on the basis of the number of write times in the plurality of blocks. The calculated amount of life can be transmitted to a host. In addition, when the calculated amount of life is greater than a threshold value, a signal providing notice that the life of the flash memory has reached a dangerous level can be output.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides for implementing a two-level fingerprint caching scheme for a client cache and a server cache. The client cache hit ratio can be improved by pre-populating the client cache with fingerprints that are relevant to the client. Relevant fingerprints include fingerprints used during a recent time period (e.g., fingerprints of segments that are included in the last full backup image and any following incremental backup images created for the client after the last full backup image), and thus are referred to as fingerprints with good temporal locality. Relevant fingerprints also include fingerprints associated with a storage container that has good spatial locality, and thus are referred to as fingerprints with good spatial locality. A pre-set threshold established for the client cache (e.g., threshold Tc) is used to determine whether a storage container (and thus fingerprints associated with the storage container) has good spatial locality.
Abstract:
A method, system, and/or computer program product log at least one stream of records in a data-processing system. A stream of records is received in succession. Records from the stream of records are logged into a log structure. In response to fulfillment of a pre-defined purging condition: the logging of the records are diverted to a buffer structure; the log structure is purged according to a set of purging criteria in response to the diverting; the records logged in the buffer structure are moved to the log structure in response to a completion of the purging; and the logging to the log structure is restored in response to a completion of the moving.
Abstract:
An on-chip memory in a many-core system is partitioned, and according to a frequency at which a processor core set in each on-chip partition accesses a virtual memory page in virtual memory space that is shared among multiple processes that belong to a same application program, data corresponding to the virtual memory page is moved to an on-chip memory partition in which a processor core set whose access frequency is high is located such that when the virtual memory page is subsequently accessed, a time delay caused by cross-partition access is reduced.
