Abstract:
A method, system, and related device for operating a display device are disclosed. The method includes: a control device transmitting the directional light to the display device when detecting a key thereof is pressed, and transmitting the collected intensity data of the first reflected light and the key information to a light tracking system; the light tracking system matching a corresponding coordinate position according to the received intensity data of the first reflected light and the known current distance between the control device and the display device, from the preconfigured reflected light intensity corresponding to the distances between the control device and the coordinate positions of various directional points on display device at the distance, then executing a corresponding operation on an area of the display device corresponding to the coordinate position in conjunction with the key information, and reflecting an operation result on the display device.
Abstract:
The present invention advantageously provides a motorized roller shade that includes a shade tube, a motor/controller unit and a power supply unit. The motor/controller unit is disposed within the shade tube, and includes a bearing, rotatably coupled to a support shaft, and a DC gear motor. The output shaft of the DC gear motor is coupled to the support shaft such that the output shaft and the support shaft do not rotate when the support shaft is attached to the mounting bracket.
Abstract:
A remote controller is arranged for selecting a light source among a plurality of light sources. The remote controller has an omnidirectional transmitter and is arranged to instruct, by means of the omnidirectional transmitter, the light sources to transmit a directional signal comprising a code, which is unique for each light source. Further, the remote controller has a directional signal receiver, and is arranged to receive the directional signals from the light sources, and signal comparison circuitry connected with the directional signal receiver. The remote controller is arranged to select one of the light sources on basis of the received directional signals. Furthermore, the remote controller comprises a transmission indicator, which is arranged to generate an indication signal, indicative of a successful omnidirectional transmission, and it is arranged to initiate the selection of one of the light sources by means of the indication signal.
Abstract:
Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to obtain an image of a consumer electronic device, the image comprising at least one visual indication of a first operating state of the consumer electronic device, and to transmit one or more commands to the consumer electronic device to change to a second operating state different from the first operating state, responsive to determining the first operating state by extracting information associated with the at least one visual indication from the image. The commands may be determined by accessing a database having control instructions associated with the consumer electronic device. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Abstract:
A remote receives an instruction to transmit and determines whether or not to include an acknowledgement request in the instruction based on statistics regarding receipt of acknowledgements associated with previously transmitted instructions. If so, the remote control device includes the request before transmitting. The remote control may determine whether or not to include the request in a variety of different ways in a variety of different implementations. In some implementations, the remote control may classify instructions into two or more different classifications and may treat instructions of different classifications differently. In other implementations, the remote control may treat the same instruction differently depending on the number of requested acknowledgements successfully received during a time period. In various other implementations, the remote control may perform various combinations of these approaches.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for building automation, made up of a portable or handheld apparatus for situation-related information configuration and of at least one stationary unit, in which system the apparatus comprises a proximity sensor, a communication unit for wireless communication with at least one of the stationary units, an evaluation and control unit having at least one processor or logic unit and a memory, an information output unit, and an energy reservoir, the system being designed to create a wireless communication connection between the apparatus and at least one of the stationary units via the communication unit as a consequence of an approach by the apparatus, as ascertained by the proximity sensor, to at least one stationary unit, and to display a state of the at least one stationary unit via the information output unit.
Abstract:
Radio messages delivering utility consumption data may be transmitted by endpoints. Each endpoint may contain a meter, such as an electric, natural gas and/or water meter. A portable unit (such as, for example, a handheld meter reading unit) may traverse a route among the endpoints and obtain the consumption data. Endpoints may send messages, periodically and/or in response to a command. Such messages may provide flags or other data indicating a condition of the endpoint. The flags or other data may be interpreted by computer code or logic within the portable unit to determine the condition of the endpoint, if a conditional command is indicated, and if so, which conditional command. Having selected an appropriate conditional or “reflex” command, the portable unit may transmit the conditional command to the endpoint and record data contained in a reply.
Abstract:
A hand-held device, such as a remote control, has a time-limited feature, such as backlight illumination, that is caused to be activated upon the occurrence of a triggering event sensed by a triggering sensor, such as a motion sensor. The hand-held device functions to disable and/or downwardly adjust a time period during which the time-limited feature will be allowed to be active upon a future occurrence of a triggering event in response to the device determining that a predetermined number of trigger events sensed via the triggering sensor are false trigger events. The time-limited feature may be disabled by disabling the triggering sensor.
