    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image reading unit, an image forming unit, a discharge unit, and a discharge tray. The image reading unit is configured to read a document placed on a document placement table by moving and scanning of a scanning body in a sub-scanning direction. The image forming unit is configured to form an image read by the image reading unit on a paper sheet. The discharge unit is configured to discharge the paper sheet on which an image is formed by the image forming unit to a direction perpendicular to the sub-scanning direction. The discharge tray is on which the paper sheet from the discharge unit is to be placed with a space portion at a lower side of the image reading unit. A bottom surface of a housing of the image reading unit facing the discharge tray is constituted of a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is a surface at a front side of the discharge unit in a discharging direction and high with respect to the discharge tray. The second surface is a surface at a back side of the discharge unit in the discharging direction lower than the first surface with respect to the discharge tray. A pulling member and/or a movable wiring are/is arranged at an upper side of the second surface inside the housing. The pulling member is configured to move the scanning body back and forth in the sub-scanning direction. One end portion of the movable wiring is secured to the scanning body.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system for providing error assistance for a device is disclosed. The error assistance is provided to an optical head-mounted display (OHMD) of a user. The system includes a server configured to receive an input, including one or more identifiers for the device, from the OHMD of the user or a mobile device of the user. The identifiers may include at least one of a serial number of the device, an identifier scanned from a tag of the device, and an error code identifying the device error. The server identifies the device and device error based on the identifiers. The server determines instructions for fixing the device error and generates an augmented display to provide on the OHMD of the user. The augmented display includes an image, icon, text, audio, or video, representative of a part of the device or an instruction for repairing the device.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a document reader, a storage for storing image data, an image output unit and a control unit. The control unit includes: a function setup controller for setting up the image output conditions of output images; and a control-unit side controller having a function of displaying a function setup screen corresponding to the function setup controller, on a display panel. The function setup controller has an additional input mode having a function of reading documents a multiple number of times to form multiple sheaves of documents. The additional input mode includes: an individual setup function of setting up individual image output conditions for each sheaf of documents and an all-in setup function of setting up identical image output conditions for all sheaves of documents. When the additional input mode is set up, the control unit-side controller offers a display of a setup change suggestion of the image output conditions for the next input on the display screen at the stage where the first image data input has been completed.

    Abstract: A color look-up-table (LUT) is created for use by an imaging system which uses a resource to display an image and/or provides an attribute of the image. A method of creating the LUT, comprises selecting (S1) a threshold value of resource usage and/or metric of the attribute. A predetermined color look-up-table representing a mapping from color values of a first color gamut to color values displayable by the imaging system is accessed. The predetermined color look-up-table has nodes defining colors to be displayed for the said color values. Resource usage and/or attribute values associated with the said nodes are compared with the threshold value thereby determining the set of nodes of the predetermined gamut having a resource usage and/or attribute values less than the threshold value (S2a, S2b, S3, S4). A new look-up-table is created (S5) which maps the said predetermined color gamut look-up-table to the said set of nodes.
