Abstract:
A method and device for synchronization between a mobile device and a display device are disclosed. A synchronization device for synchronization between a mobile device and a display device includes: a storage part configured to store first position information of each of a plurality of display devices; a receiving part configured to receive second position information of the mobile device; and a synchronizing part configured to synchronize the mobile device with a display device having the first position information corresponding to the second position information, from among the plurality of display devices. According to certain embodiments of the invention, a mobile device may be synchronized with multiple display devices using the position information of the mobile device, thus allowing the user to conveniently access various services through multiple display devices.
Abstract:
A codeset database for a universal remote control device includes a device index table, a key index table, protocol tables, and a set of keycode data structures. A keycode data structure includes a plurality of keycode data structure pointers (KDSPs) and one or more optional keycodes. In a star linking method, a keycode data structure is linked to multiple keycode data structures by pointing to those keycode data structures using multiple KDSPs. In a cluster linking method, a keycode data structure is linked to multiple keycode data structures by being pointed by those keycode data structures. A keycode data structure may not contain any actual keycodes, but a plurality of keycode data structure pointers and other information. A special value inside the keycode data structure is used to indicate whether and how keycode data structures are linked together.
Abstract:
A mobile device includes a position sensing unit, a remote control information obtainment unit, and a storage unit. Position information obtained by the position sensing unit is stored in the storage unit in association with remote control information. The mobile device further includes a directional space obtainment unit and an apparatus specification unit. The mobile device recognizes a direction pointed by a user using the mobile device, and enables operation of a terminal apparatus existing in the pointing direction.
Abstract:
A first remote control application is configured to cause a smart device to transmit at least one command for controlling at least one functional operation of a controllable appliance in response to a user interface element of the smart device being activated while a second remote control application of a bridge device is configured to cause the bridge device to transmit at least one command for controlling at least one functional operation of the controllable appliance in response to receiving at the bridge device the at least one command transmitted from the smart device. The at least one command is transmitted from the smart device using a first transmission protocol and the at least one command is transmitted from the bridge device using a transmission protocol recognized by the controllable appliance.
Abstract:
A handheld device includes a display having a viewable surface and operable to generate an image indicating a currently controlled remote device and a gesture database maintaining a plurality of remote command gestures. Each remote command gesture is defined by a motion of the device with respect to a first position of the handheld device. The device includes a gesture mapping database comprising a mapping of each of the remote command gestures to an associated command for controlling operation of the remote device and a motion detection module operable to detect motion of the handheld device within three dimensions and to identify components of the motion in relation to the viewable surface. The device includes a control module operable to track movement of the handheld device using the motion detection module, to compare the tracked movement against the remote command gestures to determine a matching gesture, and to identify the one of the commands corresponding to the matching gesture. The device also includes a wireless interface operable to transmit the identified command to a remote receiver for delivery to the remote device.

Abstract:
A remote for controlling devices and communicating data to and from such devices using both IR and RF signals. The remote control may transmit a first signal to one or more devices which, in turn may each transmit a reply signal to the remote. Each reply signal typically, although not necessarily, contains an identification of the transmitting device and the signal strength of the first signal, as detected at the device. The remote may employ this information to determine which device is closest and transmit commands accordingly.
Abstract:
An example method for controlling an external electronic device of an electronic device, according to various embodiments, includes: receiving data information corresponding to at least one function of the external electronic device from an external electronic device connected to the electronic device; displaying a setting window for setting a user interface for controlling the external electronic device using the data information; selecting a control item corresponding to the at least one function included in the setting window according to user input reception; and setting and displaying the user interface corresponding to the selected control item.
Abstract:
A communication terminal includes: a network communication section configured to communicate with a device that possesses a target to be accessed and access information; a setting section configured to set, for a transmission means that is used to carry out transmission by communication carried out by a program for exchanging messages, (i) specifying information for specifying the target and (ii) an action that the device is caused to execute with respect to the access information, the specifying information and the action being set by an operation of a user so as to be associated with each other; and an execution control section configured to send the transmission means to the device, and cause the device to execute, with respect to the access information on the target that is specified by the specifying information having been set for the transmission means, the action having been set for the transmission means.
Abstract:
A wireless foot control apparatus allows an operator to control multiple medical devices during an endoscopic medical procedure. The apparatus comprises a control console with controls designed for foot operation to control various medical devices. The controls include one or more foot pedals and foot switches to control the devices, including a selection switch to allow selection of the device to be controlled at a particular time. The console transmits signals over a wireless medium, to cause a remote receiver unit to select the device to be controlled and to control the selected device over a wired medium, in response to operation of the foot controls. The console may include a rechargeable battery, which may be sealed within the console's housing and charged inductively when the console is placed in a charging station. The receiver unit and the charging station can be separate units or integrated within a single housing.
