Abstract:
A sauna device comprises a sauna room installed with a first heating element and a heating room installed below the sauna room, and includes an air-intake hole and an air-vent hole for introducing air from outside to the sauna room and a second heating element, such that since a heating body is provided in a lower portion of the floor of the sauna room and it is heated by a radiative heat, the floor of the sauna room is kept in a constant temperature, so as to provide a convenient usage and the sauna room can be kept refreshing through air circulation.
Abstract:
An illuminated convalescent walker including a first inverted U-shaped tubular support member defining first and second leg members and a first handle member. There is a second inverted U-shaped tubular support member defining third and fourth leg members and a second handle member. At least one adjoining member is affixed to the first and third leg members for connecting the first and second inverted U-shaped tubular support members together. An illumination device is disposed within a predetermined portion of at least one of the leg members for providing light to increase visibility onto a walking path of a user. A power source is disposed within at least one of the first and second handle members and connected to the illumination device for providing energy thereto.
Abstract:
A method for the treatment of gait problems associated with Parkinson's Disease in a subject involves the use of virtual cues which are delivered to the subject in a spatial orientation and at rate which enable the initiation and sustainment of ambulation, as well as the suppression of dyskinesia associated with medication. In one embodiment, a mulfiplexed head up display is used to provide the cues to the subject's field of vision without obscuring the real world. In another embodiment, light emitting diodes fastened to eye glasses are used to deliver the virtual cues to the subject's field of view.
Abstract:
An orthopedic apparatus for persons handicapped in one leg. The apparatus includes a rigid member one end of which engages the ground between the legs of the user and the other end of which includes a saddle for engaging the individual between his legs in the crotch area.
Abstract:
A walking cane for the blind, visible during the day or night, having an elongated tubular main shaft of light conducting material with a ground engaging tip secured to one end and a tubular handle to the other end. A cover of translucent white light transmitting material envelops most of the outer surface of the shaft and outer surface of the handle, but a portion of the shaft above the ground engaging tip is exposed to provide a window for the emission of light. This window may be dyed with a red translucent material. A solid rod of light conducting material resides within the tubular shaft and has a roughened outer surface portion which diffuses light directed axially along the shaft toward the exposed portion of the shaft. A spirally wrapped layer of pliable light transmitting plastic film envelops the rest of the outer surface of the rod and diffuses the light toward the white cover. A light generator, which can be turned on and off at will, is removably positioned within the handle for directing light axially through the shaft to cause the red and white cover to glow brightly.
Abstract:
A system for assisting with a chest compression treatment being administered to a patient. In one aspect, the system for assisting with chest compression treatment includes at least one sensor configured to measure blood flow data, one or more processors, in communication with the at least one sensor, and an output device configured to provide the output indication to the rescuer. The one or more processors are configured to perform operations including receiving the blood flow data from the at least one sensor, based on the blood flow data, generating arterial blood flow data and venous blood flow data, providing an estimation of chest compression effectiveness based on the arterial blood flow data and the venous blood flow data, the estimation being based on at least one peak comparison of arterial blood flow and venous blood flow, and generating an output indication of the estimation of chest compression effectiveness.
Abstract:
A rollable apparatus includes a housing being annular in shape, a heating element mounted about the exterior of the housing, a vibration-inducing motor mounted in the interior of the housing and attached thereto, and a set of batteries mounted in the interior of the housing. The set of batteries is provided for powering the heating element to control the temperature of the housing and for powering the vibration motor to induce oscillatory motion in the housing. The apparatus also includes a set of user controls mounted so as to be accessible at the exterior of the housing, a front cover removably mounted so as to form a portion of the exterior of the housing at one end thereof, and a skin of pliable cushioning material covering the housing.
Abstract:
A method to provide skin care treatment is provided. The method includes receiving, by an electrical stimulator apparatus, programmable instructions from an external device for a skin care treatment. The electrical stimulator apparatus delivers an electric current to an area of skin through a plurality of electrodes. The electric current is controlled based on the skin care treatment. The external device presents guidance corresponding with the skin care treatment. The guidance is configured to aid a user in operating the electrical stimulator apparatus.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a massager capable of adjusting a range of motion of a massaging member, which comprises the massaging member, a reciprocating translation driving device and a range of motion adjustment module. The range of motion adjustment module adjusts a range of motion of a reciprocating translation member of the reciprocating translation driving device so as to massage a position on a massage area where massage is required, improving the massage experience effect.
