Abstract: The invention is embodied in an apparatus for extending the human back. The preferred apparatus has a frame of transverse and longitudinal members, and a roller 20 rigidly supported from below by a transverse member. The space above the roller and frame is open so that a user can lie face up on the roller and grab the longitudinal members with each hand to extend the back over the top of the roller. The user then lowers his hips to extend the spine as much as desired. The user can roll the spine, vertebrae by vertebrae, from the base of the occipital to the sacrum.

Abstract: A rollable apparatus includes a housing being annular in shape, a heating element mounted about the exterior of the housing, a vibration-inducing motor mounted in the interior of the housing and attached thereto, and a set of batteries mounted in the interior of the housing. The set of batteries is provided for powering the heating element to control the temperature of the housing and for powering the vibration motor to induce oscillatory motion in the housing. Abstract: An apparatus for generating an acoustic energy pulse and delivering it into a body is described. The apparatus includes a generator for creating an acoustic energy pulse having an energy density field that can be measured at all points within a space in the shape of an imaginary cylinder having a length greater than or equal to 2 cm and a diameter. The cylindrically shaped space has a cylinder longitudinal axis oriented relative to a longitudinal axis of the energy pulse at an angle in the range from zero to twenty degrees. A minimum energy density for the pulse at all locations within the cylindrically shaped space is at least 50% of a maximum energy density for the pulse within the space.
