Abstract: Provided are a powdery diacetal clarifying agent and a method of preparing the same. The powdery diacetal clarifying agent comprises a diacetal compound and an inorganic silicon-containing compound having a pH value equal to or more than 6 and equal to or less than 12. The powdery diacetal clarifying agent of the composition can have excellent flowability, dispersability, thermal resistance, and color stability. Accordingly, the powdery diacetal clarifying agent does not release stinking odor and incur yellowing at high temperature, allowing the plastic articles to have improved appearance and visual appeal.

Abstract: A pelletized thermoplastic road marking material is provided in which glass dust rather than calcium carbonate is used as the filler. Such glass dust can account for up to 55 weight % of the final formulation. Glass dust is a readily available and inexpensive byproduct of glass manufacturing which otherwise has little or no commercial value. Use of the glass dust is effective if the thermoplastic composition is prepared in pelletized form and performs comparably to a thermoplastic composition having calcium carbonate filler, while producing a higher yield.

Abstract: Compounds having an elastomer material, a filler material, at least one additive material, and at least one accelerant material are disclosed. In various embodiments, the filler material comprises a graphene-based carbon material. In various embodiments, the graphene-based carbon material comprises graphene comprising up to 15 layers, carbon aggregates having a median size from 1 to 50 microns, a surface area of the carbon aggregates at least 50 m2/g, when measured via a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method with nitrogen as the adsorbate, and no seed particles.

Abstract: An article has a substrate and a pattern of a dry silver nanoparticle-containing composition comprising at least 20 weight % of one or more (a) polymers, that are cellulosic polymers; (d) silver nanoparticles having a mean particle size of 25-750 nm and present in an amount of 0.1-400 weight %, based on the total weight of the one or more (a) polymers; and (e) carbon black in an amount of 5-50 weight %, based on the total weight of the one or more (a) polymers. Such patterns can have multiple fine lines of any geometric arrangement. The article can have multiple patterns of this type, and each pattern can be electrolessly plated with a suitable metal such as copper to provide electrically-conductive product articles.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are laser activatable compositions. One composition may comprise: about 35% to about 75% by weight of at least one polyamide resin, preferably a 9,T resin; about 0.1% to about 20% by weight of a laser direct structuring additive; the laser activatable additive being operative to plate the composition upon being activated by a laser; about 0.5% to 20% by weight of a phosphorus-containing additive, preferably an organo phosphinate salt; and about 10% to 50% by weight of a reinforcing fiber, preferably a glass fiber having a substantially circular cross-section, the substantially circular cross-section having a diameter of 10 microns or less; where all weight percents are based on the total weight of the composition. Further embodiments provide compositions further comprising one or more organic, metallic, or mineral fillers, pigments, or combinations thereof. Also disclosed are methods of preparing these compositions and articles produced therefrom.
