Abstract:
A system for protecting a surface of a substrate includes a protective film, which is configured to be applied and secured to the surface, as well as a backing on an adherent surface of the protective film and an application tape over an exterior surface of the protective film. Protruding features, such as tabs, adjacent to different peripheral edges of the protective film may enable removal of the backing and the application tape from the protective film, and may include features that indicate the order in which each protruding feature is to be grasped to peel its corresponding element away from the protective film. Methods of using such a system are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A window film including at least a first adhesive layer containing a weathering agent, a barrier layer, a second adhesive layer, and a light control layer in this order.
Abstract:
A polymeric film for labeling articles comprises a core layer (A), a print skin layer (B) comprising a polypropylene homopolymer, a polypropylene copolymer, a high density polyethylene, or a mixture of any of the foregoing polymers and at least 10% by weight based on the weight of the layer (B) of a polyolefin elastomer, an alkene-unsaturated carboxylic acid or acid derivative copolymer, or a mixture of any of the foregoing polymers, and an adhesive skin layer (C) comprising a polypropylene homopolymer, where the polymeric film is oriented. An adhesive containing label stock and an adhesive label die-cut from the adhesive containing label stock comprise the polymeric film which is especially useful for pressure sensitive hot melt adhesive applications.
Abstract:
Cover tapes for securing electronic parts in a carrier tape are provided. The cover tape includes opposing edges extending along a longitudinal direction of the cover tape orthogonal to a transverse direction, and first and second layers. The first layer is stretch-oriented along the longitudinal direction at a first stretch ratio, and the first and second layers are stretch-oriented along the transverse direction at a second stretch ratio greater than the first stretch ratio. The cover tape further includes a first major surface extending along the longitudinal direction and between the opposing edges, the first major surface including a plurality of linear depressions extending along the longitudinal direction. The cover tape is hand-tearable along each linear depression. Also, assemblies and methods for making cover tapes are provided.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a label comprising a face material having a machine direction oriented multilayer plastic film structure comprising at least one skin layer and a core layer. The core layer comprises at least one of polypropylene homopolymer or polypropylene random copolymer or polypropylene block copolymer or mixture of two or more thereof and at least one modifier.
Abstract:
A base film (2) of a dicing sheet includes a cutting-fragment suppression layer (A) and an expandable layer (B) laminated on one main surface of the cutting-fragment suppression layer (A). The expandable layer (B) has a laminate structure of a plurality of resin-based sublayer, including a resin-based sublayer (B1) located nearest to the cutting-fragment suppression layer (A) and a resin-based sublayer (B2) that is at least one of other resin-based sublayers than the resin-based sublayer (B1). The resin-based sublayer (B1) comprises a linear polyethylene as a primary resin. The resin-based sublayer (B2) comprises an ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid series copolymer as a primary resin. The cutting-fragment suppression layer (A) comprises a ring-containing resin (a1) that is a thermoplastic resin having at least one type of an aromatic series-based ring and an aliphatic series-based ring and an acyclic olefin-based resin (a2) that is an olefin-based thermoplastic resin other than the ring-containing resin (a1).
Abstract:
A controllable adhesive for non-flat surfaces is provided. The device has a conformable (i.e. flexible) film and directly cast thereto a synthetic dry adhesive film. The synthetic dry adhesive film has elastomeric wedges. The conformable film is capable to deform to a non-flat surface. In one embodiment, the controllable adhesive has a first loading mechanism at one end of the controllable adhesive to apply load to the controllable adhesive. In another embodiment, forming a gripper, the controllable adhesive has a second controllable adhesive with a second loading mechanism, such that the first and second loading mechanism face each other and join a common point of loading.
Abstract:
The pressure-sensitive adhesive film according to the present invention comprises a resin film as a substrate and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer provided at least on a face of the resin film. The resin film has a multi-layer constitution consisting of at least two layers. The resin film has a laser beam reflectance of 5% or higher, but 40% or lower in a wavelength range of 1000 nm to 1100 nm, and has a laser beam transmittance of 5% or lower in the said wavelength range.
Abstract:
A base material film used for a dicing sheet, the dicing sheet including the base material film and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer laminated on one surface of the base material film. The base material film includes a single layer of resin film or multiple layers of resin films, at least the resin film in contact with the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer being formed from a resin composition containing ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer as a main constituent, the resin composition further containing 0.3 to 17.0 parts by mass of an epoxy compound based on 100 parts by mass of the ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer. The dicing sheet that uses the base material film does not require application of physical energy such as an electron beam or a γ-ray, and can be reduced in dicing dust that is generated during the dicing of a cut object.
