Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically adjusting the interior cabin of an autonomous vehicle are provided. In one example embodiment, an autonomous vehicle can include a main body including a floor and a ceiling that at least partially define an interior cabin of the autonomous vehicle. The autonomous vehicle can include a partition wall that is movable within the interior cabin of the autonomous vehicle. The partition wall can extend between the floor to the ceiling of the main body. The autonomous vehicle can include a computing system configured to receive data indicative of one or more service assignments associated with the autonomous vehicle and to adjust a position of the partition wall within the interior cabin based at least in part on the one or more service assignments.

Abstract: The disclosure includes embodiments for message management by an ego vehicle for a Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) channel used in V2X messages for providing a cooperative driving service. In some embodiments, the method includes receiving a first V2X message including remote sensor data recorded by a remote vehicle. The method includes causing an onboard sensor set of the ego vehicle to record ego sensor data. The method includes determining a channel busy ratio of the V2X channel. The method includes determining a set of factors affecting a state of a recipient vehicle that receives a second V2X message. The method includes selecting a cooperation message species class and an aggregation message species class of the second V2X message based on the set of factors and the state of the recipient vehicle. The method includes selecting, from a set of available classes, a specific class of the second V2X message.

Abstract: A vehicle management system can include self-driving vehicles. Before entering a self-driving vehicle, a rider can use a remote computing device to select a pick-up location at which a self-driving vehicle will later pick up the rider. Detecting that the remote computing device is unable to communicate with the vehicle management system can trigger several responses configured to minimize the risk of a self-driving vehicle failing to pick up the rider.

When it is judged that the condition for automatic interflow is not satisfied at the first position, a notification for urging a handover of a central player of the subject vehicle is stated to execute. When it is judged that the condition for automatic interflow is satisfied at the first position, the start of the execution of the notification is temporarily suspended.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving sensor data corresponding to an environment external of a vehicle. The sensor data include data points. The method includes determining one or more subsets of the data points. The method includes comparing the one or more subsets of the data points to one or more predetermined data patterns. Each of the one or more predetermined data patterns corresponds to an object classification. The method includes computing a confidence score for each subset of data points of the one or more subsets of the data points as corresponding to each of the one or more predetermined data patterns based on the comparison. The method includes generating a classification for an object in the environment external of the vehicle based on the confidence score.

Abstract: Provided are various systems and processes for improving last-mile delivery of real-time, on-demand orders for perishable goods. In one aspect, a method is provided for aggregating on-demand deliveries using a depot dispatch protocol which may implement automated order transport and retrieval systems. The method comprises dispatching merchant couriers to transport on-demand orders from merchants to a merchant depot where the orders are aggregated and batched based on optimized delivery routes and destination proximities. Batches of orders are then transported to a customer depot corresponding to an area of delivery destinations. Orders are then assigned to delivery couriers for completion of delivery to customers. Such delivery routing systems and processes may be implemented alongside a delivery tracking system for generating estimated time of arrival predictive updates for real-time delivery of perishable goods. The described mechanisms improve courier efficiency, improve delivery tracking, and reduce overall delivery times.

Abstract: A system and related methods for management, planning and control of a connected fleet of vehicles. A unique, single integrated platform may be provided for management, planning and control of a connected fleet of vehicles, including fleet planning, in-fleeting operations, vehicle acquisition and provisioning, vehicle assignment, vehicle transfers, vehicle use operations, vehicle servicing, vehicle maintenance and repairs, and de-fleeting operations. Fleet communications can be by cellular, wireless, or low earth orbit satellite communications. Fleet vehicles include a programmable TCU installed in the vehicle and connected, directly or indirectly, to the CAN bus or similar vehicle network, and carries out various operations, including controlling vehicle access. Where outside communications links are not available, access to a vehicle may be through a protected, secure, single-use token stored on a user's computing device upon making a reservation, which is later securely communicated to the vehicle. The vehicle processes the token and allows access if the information in the token is valid.

Abstract: An apparatus for post-processing of a decision-making model of an autonomous vehicle receives a decision-making model including a plurality of states. The model is processed using multivariate data that comprises values for at least three observations of a vehicle operational scenario. A slice of the model decision space is generated by fixing values of all except two observations, and modifying the values of the two observations to obtain multiple alternative solutions for the model. The alternative solutions and the modified values form the slice. Each alternative solution is associated with a respective first value of a first observation and a respective second value of a second observation. The apparatus also generates a solution to a modified decision-making model that is the model modified by, for at least one state and at least one of the two observations, modifying a probabilistic transition matrix, a probabilistic observation matrix, or both.
