Abstract:
A method and a processing device may be provided for detecting a device newly connected to the processing device. The processing device may copy files from the device to a cache of the processing device. In some embodiments, the files may include a digital image files and associated files, such as wav files, or other files. Acquisition processing of the files stored in the cache may be initiated at any time after the processing device begins to copy the files from the device to the cache. Via a user interface, a user may preview thumbnail images corresponding to digital image files stored in one or more virtual devices, corresponding to one or more respective caches. The user may be prompted to initiate acquisition processing of a cache, having unprocessed files, after a configurable amount of time has passed since a file was last copied to the cache.
Abstract:
A new and improved method for digital scanning and archiving is disclosed herein. The method includes sorting the associated documents into separate files, placing the files onto a movable table, digitally imaging the associated documents, coding the processed files, the coding relating to the post-processing procedure, and disposing of the files in accordance with the coding.
Abstract:
The communications terminal comprises: a playback device which playbacks content; a reading device which reads in access information recorded on a prescribed recording medium, the access information being necessary for downloading the content which can be played back by the playback device, via a network; a communications device which downloads via communications the content corresponding to the access information according to the access information read in; a storage device which stores the downloaded content, the storage device storing details of the access information in association with the content, the details of the access information being used in downloading the content; a judging device which judges whether or not the content corresponding to the read access information is present in the storage device, according to information which is stored in the storage device, when the access information is read in by the reading device; and a control device which controls the playback device, the reading device, the communications device, the storage device, and the judging device, wherein: if the judging device judges that the content is present in the storage device, the control device controls for acquiring the content corresponding to the access information read in from the storage device, and for playing back the content; and if the judging device judges that the content is not present in the storage device, the control device controls for downloading the content corresponding to the access information read in, and for playing back the content.
Abstract:
A method of optimizing bandwidth of a wireless link between a display device and an image data player. The display device is configured with one or more features that affect its bandwidth capacity. This configuration results in one or more “bandwidth reduction parameters”. The display device is programmed to communicate these parameters to the player via the wireless link, so that the player can deliver device-specific image data to the display device.
Abstract:
A method for adjusting image output of a digital photo frame comprising storing a plurality of digital image data, displaying the plurality of digital image data, measuring a distance between the digital photo frame and a user, and adjusting display modes of the plurality of digital image data according to the distance between the digital photo frame and the user.
Abstract:
A display device to display contents representing data files stored in at least one external memory device attached to the display device is provided. The display device includes at least one connection interface through which an external memory device is attached to the display device, a judging unit to judge as to whether an external memory device is attached to one of the at least one connection interface, a list creation unit to create a list of data files which are stored in the external memory device according to the judgment made by the judging unit, a timer to measure a predetermined period, and a display control unit to display the list created by the list creation unit based on the data files stored in the external memory device which is attached to the display device before the predetermined period elapses.
Abstract:
Apparatus for, and methods of, capturing and storing images in a self-contained digital microfilm scanning system without requiring a personal computer or software. A digital microfilm scanner captures an image from microfilm and sends the captured image directly from the digital scanner to a viewing device for displaying the captured image. The digital microfilm scanner also sends the captured image directly to a memory storage device, such as a memory card of the SD type with a USB connector. The captured images may then be transferred to a personal computer with a compatible port or printed by a printer with a compatible port.
Abstract:
A raw image data creating unit that creates a raw image data; an image file creating unit capable of creating an image file conforming to a predetermined format based on the created raw image data; and a control unit for determining based on a predetermined criterion whether an external apparatus is caused to execute at least part of a process for creating the image file based on the raw image data, outputting the raw image data or halfway processed data obtained when the image file creating unit is caused to execute the process halfway to the external apparatus, instructing the external apparatus to create the image file based on the raw image data or the halfway processed data if the control unit determines that the external apparatus is caused to execute it, and causing the image file creating unit to execute creating the image file if the control unit determines that the external apparatus is not caused to execute it.
Abstract:
This disclosure details the implementation of apparatuses, methods, and systems for a portable, automated contractual image dealer and transmitter. The transmitter provides a platform capable of managing, manipulating, storing, and transmitting digital media files across a wide array of transmission means and protocols. In addition, the capability to provide media for sale or distribution from remote locations, including the ability to choose from a number of possible buyers based on selected criteria and to remotely establish binding purchasing and/or image transferal relationships, is potentially beneficial for an array of media applications. In one embodiment, the transmitter may be employed by photographers, photojournalists, and/or the like to rapidly process, edit, and send photographs or video to multiple news agencies, newspapers, magazines, television studios, websites, and/or the like while maintaining control over their photographs by allowing them to send reduced quality and watermarked proofs. The transmitter may be configured to allow users to first generate and transmit low-resolution preview images, thereby saving on transmission time and resources, and only send full resolution versions once approvals of the preview versions are received

This disclosure details the implementation of apparatuses, methods, and systems for a portable, image-processing transmitter. The transmitter provides a platform capable of managing, manipulating, storing, and transmitting digital media files across a wide array of transmission means and protocols. The transmitter may be configured to allow users to first generate and transmit low-resolution preview images, thereby saving on transmission time and resources, and only send full resolution versions once approvals of the preview versions are received. The transmitter's broad communication capabilities ensure that it is maximally effective in locating and exploiting available communication networks, even from remote locations.
