Abstract:
A docking assembly serves as an interface between (1) a portable digital media storage and playback (PDMSP) device, and (2) a media reproduction system. A remote controller preferably controls the docking assembly and PDMSP device, which may receive electric charge from the assembly. Media reproduction systems may reproduce audio and video signals in user-perceptible form. Telephonic relay capability is further provided between a telephonic PDMSP playback device and a telephonic remote controller by way of a telephone rebroadcast receiver associated with the docking assembly. Methods for downloading digital media files, and for creating or modifying playlists with a remotely controllable docking assembly adapted to provide a television-compatible video output signal, are further provided.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a connector unit to which an external memory device is connected; a detecting unit configured to detect whether the external memory device is connected to the connector unit or not and output a detection result indicating that the connector unit is in a connected state or an unconnected state; a printing unit configured to execute a printing according to data from the external memory device connected to the connector unit; and a suspending unit configured to suspend operation of the printing unit according to a predetermined timing in response to a change in the detection result from the connected state to the unconnected state.
Abstract:
When sending photographic image data obtained in an electronic camera 1 via a communication interface 42 to a radio telephone line of a PDC 3, a PHS 4, etc., an RISC-CPU 11 converts the image data to data having a configuration allowing communication and further converts by software processing the communication-allowing configuration data to data corresponding to the type of the radio telephone line.
Abstract:
A PictBridge printer is provided. The printer comprises: a printer housing; an inkjet printer contained in the housing; a PictBridge interface for communication with a PictBridge-enabled digital camera; a photo display screen associated with the housing; and a processor contained in the housing for communicating with the display screen, the PictBridge interface and the inkjet printer. The processor and the inkjet printer are configured for printing photos displayed on the display screen.
Abstract:
A control unit 13 gives to input data a real file name for uniquely identifying the input data and stores the input data in a memory card 7, and further stores in the memory card 7 a management file representing a relationship between the real file name and a title, both given to the same data. The title is entered through a key input unit 5 and given to the input data. The memory card 7 has plural directories assigned respectively to data sorts of input data. The data input from an external apparatus are automatically stored respectively in the corresponding directories depending on their data sorts. An extension representing a data sort is removed from the title which can be managed by a user and is given to the data previously stored in the memory card 7. Management information is created and stored in the memory card 7, which information represents relationship between the real file name and the title with the extension removed, both being given to each of the data stored in the memory card 7.
Abstract:
An image-processing method for an image-forming apparatus communicating with a peripheral device is disclosed. The method includes scanning a document; generating data corresponding to the scanned document; obtaining data held by the peripheral device; forming display data for displaying the generated data and the data obtained from the peripheral device in association with each other; and sending the formed display data to an external information-processing apparatus.
Abstract:
The image management apparatus, image management program, and image management method are provided for obtaining image and sending it to a communication device or recording it in a recording medium if the image to be obtained has a larger amount of information than a prerecorded image and is closer to the original image. There are provided a recording device for associating and recording an image with the identification and image properties of the image, a sending and receiving device for obtaining an image, the identification and image properties of the image from a communication apparatus through a communication device, an information processing device for reading image properties stored in the recording device based on the identification of the image obtained by the sending and receiving device and comparing them with the obtained image properties, and a sending and receiving device for outputting the obtained image to the communication apparatus if the comparison by the information processing device shows that the obtained image properties have a larger amount of information than that of the recorded image properties.
Abstract:
In response to a search command issued from a communication terminal, a printing apparatus declares to the communication terminal that the printing apparatus possesses an analyzing function for analyzing information described in a structured language. The printing apparatus analyzes description data, which relates to a communication method described in a structured language transmitted from the communication terminal, and communicates with the communication terminal in accordance with the communication method.
Abstract:
The invention provides an image communication apparatus in which an image input unit for entering image and a portable communication unit capable of wireless connection with a public wireless network are constructed in separate manner and are rendered capable of mutual wireless communication.
Abstract:
A camera system includes a video camera having a first mating mechanism defined on a bottom, planar surface of the video camera. A battery assembly contains an energy cell and a first surface of the battery assembly is releasably engageable with the mounting mechanism such that the battery assembly is suspended beneath the video camera, with the bottom, planar surface of the video camera in substantial contact with the first surface. A support apparatus having a second mating mechanism is also provided, the second mating mechanism releasably engaging a second surface of the battery assembly.
