Abstract:
It offers that a power supply unit with a safety device and a massage machine provided with the power supply unit that maintains off-state in the power ON/OFF switch of the main body of the message machine so as not to be unlocked easily and also prevents children and infants from operating it easily. A power switch supply button 22a and a safety device 3a that locks ON/OFF switch in off-state are equipped in the main body of the massage chair power supply unit 2a of the massage machine main body 1a. When a power supply switch button 22a is in off-state, the energization of a power supply cord 24a and the power supply switch button 22a are disabled, so that even if the power supply switch button 22a is switched on, the power supply to massage machine main body 1a is locked in off-state. The said safety device 3a means that a keylock that has key insertion part, a card reader unit, a ten-key unit and a fingerprint recognition.
Abstract:
A probe apparatus for self-administered treatment of prostatitis has a pair of opposing handle bars symmetrical to each other having handle grip ends and connected to a center housing along a common axis, and a probe connected to a front side of the center housing and extending to a probe tip. The center housing has a vibrator motor which is mechanically coupled to the probe tip, and is actuated by a switch on one of the handle grip ends. The probe has a swivelable tip actuated by a pair of swivel actuators provided on the handle grip ends. The probe tip has an off-center bulbous or ovoid shape for effecting a sweeping movement over the prostate when a swivel actuator is actuated. The probe and the handle grip ends have approximately the same length and extend in the same direction for more precise manipulation by the patient. The handle bars are connected to the center housing by twist-lock disconnectors to be detachable for storage or packing. The probe apparatus is employed by inserting the probe into the rectum from the rear of the patient, and positioning the probe tip adjacent the colon walls proximate the prostate while manipulating the handle grip ends on each side of the patient. It is employed with the patient in a standing, bent over position, and a mirror is placed on the floor between the patient's feet to provide visual confirmation of the position of the probe. The probe apparatus is effective for prostatitic drainage by manipulating the swivel actuators to sweep over the surface areas of the prostate toward the prostate center in order to drain fluid from the prostate gland and ducts.
Abstract:
A system for performing chest compression and abdominal compression for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. The system includes a motor and gearbox including a system of clutches and brakes which allow for controlling and limiting the movement of compressing mechanisms operating on the chest and the abdomen of a patient.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for applying external counterpulsation to a patient, including detecting a blood-flow impedance signal, self-adaptive filter processing the detected blood-flow impedance signal, and adjusting inflation of an inflatable member based on the self-adaptive filter processing in order to optimize counterpulsation timing. The present invention further includes an external counterpulsation apparatus providing a high-frequency current source applied to the patient to produce an electrocardiographic signal and a blood flow impedance signal, as well as an amplifier-filter circuit to operably condition the electrocardiographic signal and a heart impedance signal amplifier receiving the blood flow impedance signal. A computer processes the signals and controls a fluid distribution device to distribute compressed fluid to a plurality of inflatable members based on said processed signals.
Abstract:
A system to sanitize water in a whirlpool bathtub, spa, swimming pool, and other water vessels comprising improvements to U.S. Pat. No. 6,395,167 and incorporating an antimicrobial chemical dispenser.
Abstract:
A control system for a pool and spa. Main line voltage is provided through a single line voltage service and a single ground fault circuit interrupter circuit, facilitating a ground fault test and simplifying installation. The control system acts as a power distribution system for controlling the pool and spa equipment, with a circuit board assembly including individual fuse protection devices and switching circuits. A test algorithm is included, wherein the control system is disabled from normal operation if the GFCI test fails. The pool operator manually enters a water fill command, and the controller system automatically opens the fill valve for a predetermined time interval, and then automatically closes the valve. An emergency disconnect switch is mounted near the bathing area, connected by low voltage wiring to the controller system cabinet. The controller system senses the emergency switch closure and disconnects line voltage to the line voltage loads. The emergency switch closure also remotely induces a ground fault, tripping the GFCI. A sensing circuit allows the controller system to sense the presence of the emergency switch system, and issues a warning and prevents normal operation of the pool and spa system if not connected. A gas pressure sensor monitors the natural gas line, and the heater is disabled and a warning given under low pressure conditions. Abnormal filter backpressure triggers a warning when the filter needs service. A temperature sensor has parallel sensing elements in a common housing to provide separate sensing circuits.
Abstract:
A method for increasing circulation in a breathing person utilizes a valve system that is interfaced to the person's airway and is configured to decrease or prevent respiratory gas flow to the person's lungs during at least a portion of an inhalation event. The person is permitted to inhale and exhale through the valve system. During inhalation, the valve system functions to produce a vacuum within the thorax to increase blood flow back to the right heart of the person, thereby increasing cardiac output and blood circulation.
Abstract:
The Chest-positioner/pad Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation System (CCPRS) provides improved resuscitation during one-person or two-person CPR. The simple, compact, portable and cost-effective system provides for manual, mechanical or electrical driven external chest compressions via a socket connection to a chest-positioner/pad unit. The chest-positioner/pad unit provides greater control of compression positioning providing adequate and reproducible chest compressions while preventing rib fractures and damage to vital internal organs. A module gives providers feedback to enable a provider to apply an appropriate compressive force in an appropriate direction, recurringly under emergency conditions. The present invention also provides improved blood circulation, oxygenation and gas exchange by expanding the chest past its normal relaxation point during diastole. Providers are able to administer adequate CPR for longer periods of time with reduced or minimal effort while improving survivability of cardiac arrest victims.
Abstract:
An occupational-therapy/physical-therapy apparatus is disclosed and includes at least one pivotal or rotatable resistance against which the body part being exercised is located. A resistance bar is biased to act against the body part, which bias is adjustable. Operatively associated with the resistance bar is at least one stabilization bar that is used to support a part of the body in close proximity to the body part engaged against the resistance bar, in order to provide the most optimal support to the body part being exercised. Each of the resistance bar and the stabilization bar has a multitude of degrees of freedom of motion, which in the preferred embodiment total six degrees of freedom, so that numerous types of exercises may be performed on numerous different body parts, and so that the most optimal orientation of the body part may be achieved, where both horizontal, vertical and angular orientations of the body parts may be accomplished while the body part is being exercised. The pivotal movement of the resistance bar or lever is infinitely adjustable by an adjustable, angular control mechanism, in order that the apparatus of the invention is most optimally suited and safe for all types of patients, body parts, and exercises. The angular starting point, and therefore the end point, of movement of the pivotal resistance bar is also adjustable.
