Abstract: Described herein are various embodiments of differential air pressure systems and methods of using and calibration such systems for individuals with impaired mobility. The differential air pressure systems may include an access assist device configured to help a mobility impaired user to stand in a pressure chamber configured to apply a positive pressure on a portion of the user's body in the sealed pressure chamber. The system may also include load sensors configured to measure the user's weight exerted inside and outside the chamber. The system may be calibrated by determining a relationship between the actual weight of the user and the pressure in the chamber, where the actual weight of the user may be measured by more than one load sensor and at least one load sensor is not in the pressure chamber.

Abstract: A system includes a guidance device that provides feedback to a user to compress a patient's chest at a rate of between about 90 and 110 compressions per minute and at a depth of between about 4.5 centimeters to about 6 centimeters. The system includes a pressure regulation system having a pressure-responsive valve that is configured to be coupled to a patient's airway. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed during successive chest compressions in order to permit removal at least about 200 ml from the lungs in order to lower intracranial pressure to improve survival with favorable neurological function. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed until the negative pressure within the patient's airway reaches about −7 cm H2O, at which time the pressure-responsive valve is configured to open to provide respiratory gases to flow to the lungs through the pressure-responsive valve.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a type of medical instrument, in particular a fifth generation FSN needle, being a special tool for Fu's subcutaneous needling (FSN), comprising a needle handle, a needle core, a soft casing pipe and its handle, and a protective sleeve. Abstract: The gait rehabilitation control system according to the present invention comprises an operation device unit for setting gait training mode of a patient and displaying gait state information of the patient; a gait device unit worn on the patient's feet so as to move along with the gait motion of the patient; and a control unit for driving the gait device unit according to the gait training mode set by the operation device unit, wherein the control unit comprises a gait pattern analysis unit for measuring reaction force between the patient's feet and the gait device unit, and analyzing the gait pattern of the patient with the data of the reaction force.

Abstract: A micro bleed hole connector for use in intermittent pneumatic compression devices includes a body made of a material that is sturdy, durable and compression resistant. The bleed hole connector resembles industry-standard air tube connectors, and has a micro bleed hose connecting its hollow lumen to the outside, ambient air. In use, the connector is inserted between the air input tube of an intermittent pneumatic compression device and an air supply tube, which is connected to an air pump. The air pump inflates and deflates the intermittent pneumatic compression device, which is placed on a patient's limb. In the event deflation of the compression device is retarded by air pump failure or air supply tube occlusion, the micro bleed hole dissipates air sufficiently to prevent injury to the patient's limb. Air dissipation through the bleed hole during normal operation is minimal and does not impact therapeutic application.

Abstract: An apparatus for assisting the balance of a user is disclosed herein. The apparatus includes a first control moment gyroscope (CMG) and a second CMG configured as a scissor pair. The first CMG includes a first flywheel and a second flywheel, a first motor that rotates the first and second flywheels, a first gimbal supporting the first and second flywheel, and a first gimbal servo to rotate the first gimbal. The second CMG includes a third flywheel and a forth flywheel, a second motor that rotates the third and fourth flywheels, a second gimbal supporting the third and fourth flywheels, and a second gimbal servo to rotate the second gimbal. The apparatus additionally includes a gyroscope controller controlling the first gimbal servo and the second gimbal servo.
