Abstract:
A portable information terminal device cradle apparatus includes a recording/reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing data using a recording disk, disposed in an inner space enclosed by an enclosure including an upper plate and a lower plate, a main part of a connector for a connection with a portable information terminal device and/or a cradle assembly placed on the upper plate, and a connector holding part for holding the main part of the connector such that the main part of the connector is rotatable with respect to the upper plate.
Abstract:
Free setting of the angle or direction of a camera is available while the camera is being inserted into a cradle. A cradle for a digital camera is provided, which is capable of confirming a display screen of the camera, changing the recording medium or battery, or mounting or demounting a communication cable or the like while the camera is being mounted on the cradle without deteriorating the camera holding. The cradle has a structure such that a tripod screw hole is formed on the bottom surface of the cradle, thereby capable of fixing the cradle to a tripod while the digital camera is being inserted into the cradle. By making the height of rubber pads equal or higher than that of a tripod base, the cradle can be stably placed on a desk or the like. The cradle also has a structure that, among the walls holding the camera, a part of the walls that cover a liquid-crystal monitor of the camera, a media slot for a memory card, a terminal part including a power supply terminal or USB terminal is constituted by movable walls. The movable walls can be used as a simple tripod by employing a free stop structure or click stop structure.
Abstract:
A cradle is capable of supplementing convenience of a portable information apparatus such as a digital camera of which functions including an image display function and a removable medium are omitted. If the camera is mounted on a camera mounting section of the cradle, a camera connector is electrically connected to a cradle connector in synchronization with a mounting operation thereof. The control circuit contained in the cradle detects a connection of the camera, and automatically starts communication between them. The image stored in the internal memory of the camera is sent to the cradle side, and is displayed on a liquid crystal display.

In addition, a variation is also desirable wherein a data storing device such as the removable medium is provided on the cradle side to transfer the image in the camera to the data storing device on the cradle side and then erase the internal memory of the camera.
Abstract:
Described is a system having a digital camera and a docking unit which permits the docking unit to receive images over a channel and direct them to a viewable display in the digital camera.

Abstract:
A multimedia and audio-visual device is provided with the functions of working as a GPS, and showing MP3 music, digital pictures, and digital television programs. The multimedia and audio-visual device comprises: a main body, a liftable monitor, a power-sourcing device, and a desktop charger. The main body is a rectangular, flat casing. The liftable monitor is connected to the main body through a pivot to enable the liftable monitor to be watched from various angles. When folded, the liftable monitor is located to touch a recessed portion of the main body. Several operation keys are mounted on the main body below the liftable monitor for controlling the working of the main body. When the main body is coupled with the desktop charger having the built-in digital television module, the main body becomes a television for receiving the digital television signal. Besides, the desktop charger can charge the power-sourcing device simultaneously.
Abstract:
An image storage includes a built-in memory having large capacity for storing plural image data taken by a digital camera. A digital circuit retrieves desired one of the image data from the built-in memory. A connector electrically connects with the digital camera for data transmission. A detector detects the connection of the digital camera to the connector. A controller causes the image storage to receive the image data transmitted from the digital camera through the connector to store that data in the built-in memory in response to detection of the connection by the detector. The controller can transmit a signal to the digital camera to delete the image data that has been transmitted to and stored in the built-in memory. The signal is effective to forcibly delete the image data from the digital camera even if the image data is protected against deletion according to a digital camera setting.
Abstract:
A digital camera dock includes multiple controls and connections for multiple external devices. Actuating a control initiates interaction with a corresponding external device connection. A method of using a camera docking station is also described.
Abstract:
An image storage for storing digital still image data is connected to a television set for selectively watching a broadcast program in a first mode or a still image transmitted from the image storage in a second mode. The image storage has an input circuit for receiving a control signal form the television set and an output circuit for transmitting a still image signal to the television set on the basis of the digital still image data, the output circuit being responsive to the control signal. The television set, on the other hand, has an output circuit for transmitting the control signal to the image storage. By means of the control signal, the image storage is automatically turned on or off when the television set is turned on or off, respectively. The control signal makes image storage operative or inoperative when the television set is in the second mode or in the first mode, respectively, to save power consumption with the television set in the first mode. The image storage may be further connected to a printer, wherein the image storage further has an output circuit for transmitting an output signal to the printer in response to the control signal from the television set, the output signal being an image signal to be printed or a control signal for the printer function.
