    Abstract: A dispensing unit of a dispensing system configured to dispense viscous material on an electronic substrate includes a support housing and a fluidic housing supported by the support housing. The fluidic housing includes a chamber and an inlet configured to deliver viscous material to the chamber from a material feed tube. The dispensing unit further includes a nozzle assembly releasably secured to the housing and configured to close an end of the fluidic housing. The dispensing unit further includes a reciprocating piston disposed partially within the chamber of the fluidic housing. The piston is configured to dispense viscous material from the nozzle assembly. The dispensing unit further includes a fixed flexible diaphragm seal configured to be secured to the fluidic housing and to the piston.

    Abstract: A suck back type intermittent coating system including a valve mechanism, a valve manipulating mechanism, and a solenoid valve for controlling the operation of the valve manipulating mechanism; and a control device that inputs therein a pulse signal indicative of the travel state (travel speed, etc.) of a base material traveling along a coating line, and outputs an electrical command to the solenoid valve. A displacement sensor for detecting a displacement of the movable valve body of the valve mechanism is provided so that the operation of the valve manipulating mechanism is remotely controlled by a command signal to the solenoid valve; and with a computer having a feedback function that issues a correction signal to the operation of the solenoid valve confirmation and tally of the operation of a coating gun module is performed even when away from a production line.

    Abstract: A hot melt adhesive system includes an adhesive supply for receiving solid or semi-solid hot melt adhesive, and a heater associated with the adhesive supply for melting the solid or semi-solid hot melt adhesive into liquid hot melt adhesive. An adhesive tracking system monitors an output of the liquid hot melt adhesive, and includes a flow meter having a flow inlet and a flow outlet. The flow meter measures an amount of the adhesive flowing out of the flow outlet. A product detector may be used to sense a presence of a product to which the adhesive is applied. A controller then determines the total amount of the liquid adhesive dispensed and the average amount of liquid adhesive dispensed per product.

    Abstract: A check valve system includes a housing, a blocking element, and a biasing member. The housing has a passageway therethrough, the passageway including a first portion and a second portion, the first portion having a diameter that is less than a diameter of the second portion so as to form a stepped portion. The blocking element is disposed within the second portion of the passageway. The biasing member is disposed within the second portion of the passageway and configured to maintain the blocking element in contact with the stepped portion when under compression.     Abstract: A dispensing system receives liquid material and process air. The dispensing system includes a manifold body having a liquid material passage and a process air passage. The dispensing system includes a heating member received in the manifold body. The heating member has an upper portion, a lower portion, an outer surface, and a groove in the outer surface. The groove may extend between the upper portion and the lower portion and form at least a portion of the process air passage. The dispensing system may further include a nozzle configured to dispense the liquid material. The heating member may be configured to heat the process air as the process air passes through the groove and heat the liquid material through contact of the outer surface of the heating member with the manifold body.

    Abstract: A liquid material discharge device and method capable of remedying the problem of liquid leakage caused by a closing failure that may occur in a negative pressure environment. The liquid material discharge device is used in a negative pressure space, and includes a storage container, a compressed-gas supply source pressurizing the storage container, a nozzle having a discharge flow path, a reciprocating valve rod, an actuator driving the valve rod, a valve seat having a communication hole that is communicated with the discharge flow path, and a discharge control device controlling the actuator to open and close the communication hole by a tip of the valve rod. The device can further include a resin film disposed at a lower end of the valve rod, or a resin film disposed on an upper surface of the valve seat and having a through-hole communicating with the communication hole.
