Abstract: A system is provided for dispersing supercooled liquid water in an icing wind tunnel. The system includes a spray bar; a spray nozzle coupled to the spray bar; a pressure control valve coupled to the spray bar; and a controller coupled to the pressure control valve and the spray nozzle. The controller is configured to receive input identifying a selected liquid water content and a selected water droplet size for dispersing the supercooled liquid water in the icing wind tunnel; configure an injector duty cycle of the spray nozzle to generate the selected liquid water content; and configure the pressure control valve to generate the selected water droplet size, wherein configuring the spray nozzle and the pressure control valve disperses the supercooled liquid water in the icing wind tunnel.

Abstract: A system and method for dynamically controlling fluid pressure within a fluid flow circuit is disclosed. A fluid circulation system supplies working fluid through an inlet line and returns working fluid through an outlet line. A fluid management device is fluidically coupled to the inlet line and the outlet line. The fluid management device defines a pressure-controlled point. A first proportional valve and a first pressure sensor are disposed in the inlet line to selectively modulate and measure an inlet fluid pressure in the inlet line. A second proportional valve and a second pressure sensor are disposed in the outlet line to selectively modulate and measure an outlet fluid pressure in the outlet line. A controller is configured to maintain the inlet fluid pressure at a target inlet pressure and maintain the outlet fluid pressure at a target outlet pressure.

Abstract: A semiconductor manufacturing system includes: a nozzle including a first channel that allows a fluid to flow through; a light source configured to emit light; and a light sensor configured to receive light, the light source and the light sensor being disposed within the first channel and opposite to each other. The semiconductor manufacturing system is configured to: emit light, by the light source, from within the nozzle toward a surface while the nozzle is dispensing the fluid; receive the light reflected from the surface by the light sensor, the emitted light and the reflected light adapted to be contained within the fluid; and examine a status of the reflected light. The emitted light and the reflected light propagate in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the first channel.

Abstract: A golf ball painting system encompassing a spray system having a spray gun configured to spray paint in a spray pattern toward an application area having one or more golf balls to be painted. The spray control system has a spray gun control system configured to adjust or signal for adjustment of at least one of the one or more spray gun settings and a spray detection system having a detector positioned between the spray gun and the application area and configured to non-invasively monitor the spray pattern and collect data indicative of at least one spray pattern parameter. A device is configured to receive the at least one spray pattern parameter from the spray detection system and compare the at least one spray pattern parameter to a target value, and, if the at least one spray pattern parameter is outside of the target value, perform a corrective action.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device (10) for providing mist to a surrounding environment, the device (10) comprising a housing unit (12) having an inlet opening (18), an outlet opening (20), and a chamber (22) extending between the inlet opening (18) and the outlet opening (20) along a central axis (24); a nozzle unit (14) including at least one orifice (26); wherein the nozzle unit (14) is arranged in the chamber (22), the nozzle unit (14) being slidable along the central axis (24) between a closing position, in which the nozzle unit (14) closes the outlet opening (20), and an opening position, in which the at least one orifice (26) connects the chamber (22) to the surrounding environment in fluid communication; wherein the nozzle unit (14) transfers from the closing position to the opening position if a fluid pressure at the inlet opening (18) exceeds a predefined threshold; wherein the nozzle unit (14) comprises a deflector part (28) for deflecting fluid in the opening position and for closing the outlet opening (20) in the closing position, wherein the at least one orifice (26) is arranged offset to the central axis (24) between the inlet opening (18) and the deflector part (28); wherein the at least one orifice (26) is configured to guide fluid flowing through the at least one orifice (26) and to lead the fluid towards the deflector part (28). The invention provides an improved device (10) for providing mist to a surrounding environment, which reduces the required amount of fluid and increases the efficiency of the fluid distribution.
